Sorry if this is a Beaten horse….
Two questions, are the rear hubs for all S550’s the same?
has anyone had the driver side REAR hub fail causing abs sensor code? Tripping advanc trac etc?
I’m quite certain this is my issue. About to place an order for the Ford Performance arp stud complete hub kit & wanted to make sure they will fit. (Yes I am aware the front hubs are different than allother s550’s)

If you're talking about the M-1104-B kit, then the only Mustang FP says it won't fit is the GT350R. The GT350 and the R mount the same basic hub unit, but the lugs are longer on the R because the CF rims are thicker than aluminum rims.

So, since you have a GT350 with aluminum wheels, it should work fine.

BTW - do some homework on this - the M-1104-B hub kit description doesn't list the open end lug nuts as included, but the open end lug nut listing says that they are, and the picture of the hub kit shows them as well.

Just in case, did you check the nut is torqued? Mine has come loose as well as one of my track rat friends has...

There was a post somewhere with the service manual page showing the torque procedure for the axle nut, but now I can't find it. Anyone know, or have that page? I guess it'd be the same for all 550 cars?

What's the best way to check the torque on that if it's already somewhat tight? Loosen it and start the torque from scratch? Or just see if the wrench clicks?

iirc, it's 98 ft lbs PLUS 45 degrees.

also i think ford wants you to use a new nut when re-torqueing, but not sure how critical that really is.

if it clicks at 98 lbs, the nut probably isn't the problem, but if it doesn't and turns before clicking, then add 1/8 or 45 degrees turn. you'll need a big breaker bar I think.

If the nut has been loose, its probably ruined the hub by now anyway.

maybe, but no idea how many miles he's had this problem.

mine has been fine since re-torqueing, but also probably was only loose ish for part of a track day and the drive home...

it's worth trying first IMO.

Car has 15k on it
Was doing the creaking sound a little on driver rear before I pulled em to do the stud swap.
Driver side nut was tight but def came free easier than the passenger side.
