So, I'm about 7k miles into my 15' Ecoboost premium.
When I hit the throttle when turning onto streets from a stop sign. The back end just kind of starts to get loose.

It's this exact behavior that has me a little concerned about testing the cars performance more.

I still have the stock tires on the car. Is it because of these?

Obviously. I'm thinking more about ripping around corners or taking an curved mountain road with more confidence. Right now I don't have ANymY confidence in the sticky of the back end. Just feels like it could come loose at any juncture, doesn't inspire confidence

your feeling is probably correct. I don't know what to tell you. Maybe an open diff would be better. Too much gas, and a single wheel spins, rather than the whole back end kicking out. Aside from that, AWD cars?

It's also called the physics of rear wheel drive. Time for some steeda suspension upgrades and stickier tires if you wanna do more ripping around corners:headbang:

And? It concerns me that I finally have a car with some good power.

RWD with an open diff is a very different animal than RWD with LSD / Torsen

this is an extreme example but the idea still holds. I am sure this guy had first class suspension and tires:

Hasn't it been raining and a bit cold in SoCal lately? Perhaps that's contributing.

Suggesting the OP buys a different car is probably not the type of answer he is looking for and yes your example is extreme and probably no where near what he is experiencing. The mustang in your example started smoking the tires while still pointing straight, then turned. That much power even with an open diff you can do the same. My 79 cobra had a standard open diff and I could get sideways easy.

I don't know

this video shows that its possible to launch hard into a turn, but these guys don't look like beginners. There is a Miata in the mix that managed to get himself turned around backward:lol:

I would suggest finding empty parking lots and getting to know you cars characteristics.

what are these curved mountain roads you refer too? I believe EB PP has summer tires, so if its cold, then you may have the wrong tires for the job.

With 300 HP, or even 435 HP, and season appropriate tires, I don't think it should be that hard to keep the car firmly footed. Now if you had S/C V8 with 650 HP, that's different.

Please tell me more about both of these upgrades.
Especially the brand/model of the tires I should be looking at.

The truth is , I'm not even gunning it. It's definitely the physics in action, but it's a too common occurrence even on wider angle turns..seems to want to let go more easily than I want it to.
Stickier tires would definitely be a step in the right direction.
I don't know anything about suspension upgrades but I am more than willing to investigate.
