This is my 3rd weekend attempting this. Give a hand please.

Lowering spring installed. Koni shock drilled out ready to roll.

But ... and I've done this four times.... I try to tighten the bolt that goes in the cb005 bracket it gets so tight I think I'm stripping it and can barely move it..

I'm not a small man, I keep retracting the bolt and it's not stripped but I keep chickening out. Is this normal? Does it normally get super tight ?

We're talking a half inch out when it starts tightening up, I could understand if it was the last two turns of the wrench but it's not.

It's the "bolt at 2:25 of this video

I installed the exact same kit yesterday and had no such issue until near the end when you need to get it to the recommended ft-lbs of torque.

It sounds to me like you're not lined up and the end of the bolt is just hitting the top flat section as opposed to actually going in the hole. Shine a light and look up to see. I'd also recommend that you remove the CB005 and try to thread the bold on it's own first. That will likely shed some insight.

I'll take some pictures. I've got the steeda spacer for the cb005 kit wondering if that's the problem but I don't think so.

You may just want to try backing out all 4 cradle bolts and then get each one close before torqueing them down. I also have the steeds alignment kit for the BMR lockout kit. Have no trouble with it.

So what was it in the end, just finessing with the hole alignment?

I also could not get the last bolt to go in with the Steeda piece in the hole so had to loosen the other 3 a bit more until the last one would go in then tightened down all 4.

They call it in the computer world an IO error. Idiot operator.

Reversed the top spacers.

Glad to hear you got it sorted out. Take solace in the fact that someone else WILL have the exact same problem you did, and while searching this forum or Googling for possible causes/fixes, they will find this thread. And their problem will be solved. :)

I will say that BMR's instructions could've been better while on the topic of install. As an example, they refer to starting on 1 "side" but I'm still not clear if it's the front/rear side of the cradle or the left/right side.

Sooo close but so far. On to the other side and the spring does not want to come out.

I'm glad I'm not alone, haha. I'm having the very same issue. All the bolts went in perfectly, except for the driver side front (the one that uses the large brace). I loosened all the corners again and even removed that brace completely. It still binds to the point I'm afraid I'll snap the bolt. I've confirmed the steeda alignment kit is in the correct orientation....now I'm worried I have cross-threaded it....

My projects never go easy peasy ike the CJ Ponyparts videos, LOL!

DO NOT FORCE IT...I had the same issue and forced it in and ended up having to buy a tap and dy kit to clean up the threads, huge PITA. I would keep trying until it just goes in how it should
