Look at this app, it worked with my cheap ebay obd blue tooth adapter and showed diff temp.

Nice John, that's how ours is going to mount, but our pump will actually fit in the same footprint. Make sure you check the fan for the designed direction, sucking or blowing. Some are more efficient sucking through the core. Just as long as you have some gap (from the picture it looks like you do) for air to pull through it.

Did you find a spot for the pump? If you plan on running one relay for both make sure you run #10(atleast or pair of 12's) wire. The fans typically draw 6-8amps, pumps 10-12. So a 20AMP relay should be suitable (30AMP Surge/20AMP Continous) Just verify it on the pump and fan motor what the max for both is. Remember it's a long run from the battery to the axle. Voltage drop on a lighter gauge wire will cause more issues than it's worth.

REALLY appreciate the advice! I passed on the info on to my mechanic and he confirmed theres a finger gap, do you think thats enough?

The reason I ask is that I've heard that the SCT X4 can. I don't know all the details.
Yep, the SCT X4 can do the crank relearn. The X4 also has a bunch of other pre-programmed stuff in it as well. I don't think the SCT software has as many tables/tabs/parameters available as hptuners though(ie no flex fuel capability with SCT right now).

Very nice! I tried several apps with various OBDII blue tooth adapters and asked on here several times without luck. It def. works and has way more PIDs than anything I've seen for our cars. I haven't figured out a way to make it standard instead of metric yet though, even though it has an imperial option.

Nice! I look forward to hearing how install goes and how it works.

im going to also be wrapping the exhaust and switching to the 75w-140 i got from optimum but those MIGHT be held off on until after barber..right before sebring. This would allow me to properly gauge the performance of the cooler itself.

For those of you who want a passive cooling solution - I pinged Mishimoto. Here is what they said. I already ordered the exhaust shield on Amazon and hope that along with a passive cooler and high temp diff oil will do the trick.:

There are a few threads on this - also, magazines and folks tracking the car report differential overheating (esp in the 2016, which has a sensor. My 2015 doesnt have that).

A passive cast aluminum finned differential cover with ideally more fluid capacity and a air scoop would probably be preferable and cheaper than an active fan and pump based solution.

See my thread here (post 199):

The image below is along the lines of what I was thinking...perhaps you all can poll the 6g community?

Hi There,

Thank you for the information! We are certainly considering this project, and we are in the process of researching it. I will be sure to pass this along to our market research team. Thanks very much for reaching out!

I'd prefer one like this over a E92 M3 style like you posted, but various ppl have already contacted Mishimoto about this and nothing yet. I completely understand why though, this is really only a torsen/3.73 issue as best we can tell (only 3.73's have the sensor). Who know though, maybe the other cars have an issue as well. With that, that is a small percentage of mustang owners, and an even smaller percentage of owners who track their cars. I think that's why most of us are looking at making our own cooler kit (that and it will be the most efficient). Either way, would be awesome if someone ended up making a cover.

To be clear I like the fins like you have in your image. Its just that having an additional low profile (so it doesnt scrape) scoop (similar to the transmission scoop) would probably help with capturing some airflow. The fins increase surface area to dissipate heat, but what about airflow? I cant make out if the one you posted has a scoop in the front.

To be honest, I'm seeing a lot of folks track their S550's (probably has a percentage of S550 ownership small but still a lot of people given the volume of Mustangs sold). I started seeing Mustangs on the track and autocross a lot since the Boss 302 came out. Now a days its rare I dont see the new GT's and GT350's on track or AX - almost every single GT has some mods. Probably because of the stiff structure stock, big handling and performance gains with small mods and great power to price ratio.
