Now if we do the same comparison with Ford Racing Track Pack handling package, things might get more interesting. Switching the gears to 3.55's might have made the 2nd gear more useful. 3.73's are pretty short for this car.

So if I'm reading this correctly the 1LE is faster than the others in a real world autocross style test on a sub 40 second course...

I'm not sure what this proves. I actually would have expected the opposite on a course like that.

Did I miss something?

Unfortunately the SCCA isn't relevant because they're not racing 100% stock cars, which is the sort of comparisons most people are trying to make/discuss.
FS is nearly stock class. Allows for a very very few mods (like only one sway bar for example). Since they wrote cars were well prepped, they all were very comparable in terms of prep.
1LE is faster in these condition, have to get over it people. I don't know why this is a problem because 99% people here can't drive like these guys (me included).
Strano / Monfrort race(d) corvette and are instructors in Evolution school.

And have to get over '16 SS (which SCCA classed for autox in FS as well) being Faster than S550 as well. Work on your skills instead of stupid debates on forum, this is best test you can _ever_ get in terms of car handling.

FS does not allow to install any kind of package. You car replace shocks, change one sway bar, adjust camber to what factory maintenance manual allows, change tires to TW200 (likely all of them were on RE-71Rs) and have to maintain rim width, offset +/- 7mm vs. OEM. No rear gearing changes allowed either. It's the whole idea - run the car as you bought it.

Also I gotta wonder, if those magazine tests don't take place in the real world, what world do they take place in?
Spoken like a true magazine racer.

I totally agree. But I also like to see what the same day/track/driver times are. Because this takes as much of the driver variable out, and you are left with what each car is capable of. Like the 6th gen Camaro is capable of running high 11s. Does that mean every single time? Far from it lol. I think racing out in the real world shows how much skill the person has and less how capable the car is.
We've talked about this before. Every smacker that runs out and buys a Camaro SS will go to the drag strip and then sit there and tell me all night. Well I don't know what's wrong?:shrug:It's supposed to run 11s. For some reason my car is running 12.7s. I agree with you. Cars are only capable of what the driver can make them do. And Stock Vs. Stock only matters as bragging rights on forums to people who don't really race. If your racing regulary. I don't care if your dodging orange cones in a parking lot. Drag racing. Road racing. Your going to mod. So I'll ask you? What good is being two tenths faster than me stock going to do you? When you'll be able to squeak out an 11.9 in perfect conditions and I'll be running 11.5 in those same perfect conditions. All the real racers at the track just call that a lose. The forum jockeys will come over to you and will say damn. You would have won if he was stock and not such a good driver.

Considering that mine will be stock for SCCA reasons, (or writhing the rules) stock has a lot to do with it.

Can't really do much to them without going outside of your class.

But again, I'm waiting like Pill to see the results on the track.

So far it's where I expected from results.

I don't know about every class, but I know the classes ThePill usually refers to are no where near stock.

5.0 get beat all the time at the track? A lot has to do with who's driving. reaction time. But thanks for posting OP. Feel better now? ... LOL congrats on the dumbest post of the day. Your confusing traction with power. There is no way on earth an Accord is hanging with a GT.You want to argue build quality. That's one thing. But trying to claim an Accord will outrun a GT is against the laws of physics! With all things being equal.
"A lot has to do with who's driving..." "With all things being equal."

This was your reaction when you thought a Honda Accord beat a 5.0. By your own words you're a forum jockey. Do you know what projection is?

Yup i say lets not trust the bench racing magazine numbers, or these legit track records, but trust to some random mustang forum member's words lol.

Now, the fifth gen 1le is infact faster so it seems now what? Is six gen ss or ss 1le going to be slower than a gtpp? Can we defy laws of physics or science? I see alot of people here with modes talking down on new camaro's. Who else is driving their s550 stock, daily, 4 seasons including negative temperatures, occasionally tracking? Who really gives a damn about their factory warranty?

Why is it still hard to accept the new camaro is infact faster than a stock s550 on equal standards. Its either 13 seconds vs 12.99 or 12.5 vs 12.49 seconds who cares. Lets send our gratitude to thePill for posting this valuable information.

LOL. I called the Honda race correctly. A crap driver in a faster car got beat by a guy in a slower yet modded car. How often in life are all things equal? Only on forums are all things equal. The Camaro is faster stock. So I went out and made my car faster then a stock Camaro! Project that now. A stock Camaro will probably out run you. Their not beating me!
