So my car had it's 1st 12 month service in April 2019 with 4000 miles on the clock.

Fast forward to today, 5 months and 2000 miles later, the oil is showing as 3% life left.

Is this normal? I've come from Porsche's requiring a service every 2 years.
Normal? No but not unusual. Personally I have zero faith in the Ford algorithm for engine oil life so i ignore it completely and just reset the warning when it appears. Oil/filter change every 10k miles or 12 months whichever is the sooner, unless the car is regularly tracked, is fine for me. TBH, any quality fully synthetic oil will last 10k miles with relative ease.

I checked the oil level and it was fine. As was the appearance of the oil. So I reset the indicator.
