When the vehicle is completed - and you talk to your Ford CSR again, push for reimbursement of vehicle payments for as many months as you were without the vehicle. Explain that you're a dissatisfied customer due to the length of downtime and this isn't what you would consider a good Ford vehicle ownership experience. I would also say it in a way that you were essentially paying on an product that wasn't able to be utilized due to manufacturing defects.

They should reimburse you for as many months you made payments on a "ghost" vehicle.
Sounds good - ive def been pushing that.

My car has been in the shop for 6-weeks. They finally began putting a new short block and clutch into my car. I hope it's ready soon. Fingers-crossed everything goes smoothly during install time.

Does anyone know how long this would take? They started either Friday or yesterday, I noticed yesterday my car was not parked outside the shop, it was actually inside.

Good luck man! Sounds like your in the 9th inning

Thanks - same to you. I would say 3-4 days depending on the tech working on it but who knows these days.

Good point. Never know these days. Apparently, the engine guy they have is really good from what i was told by somoene. I want it done right, so speed is not good in our situations with new engines :)

What rental did they give you? I got a 2021 Ford Fusion (maybe 2020)

Big difference from a GT. My son is also getting my car, we bond over cars and sports. He's 13, so he's going to get my 2019 GT.

I got a 2021 Kona w/like 800 miles on it... im breaking it in real good... it def does not like the E-Brake being pulled while moving...lol

Sons def getting my truck(unless im buried in it :p) but thats not till im gone, he will prob get this car when hes old enough but i am searching for a good fox body to restore in mean time... Ive had an 87 and 89 fastbacks, i kinda want a vert, back in 90s the black slammed vert just hit hard... lol.

I think everyone wants a fox body right now. I plan on getting one maybe I'll give that to him.

A Mustang GT is not a good first car for a teenager. But at the same time these cars are much different than the ones we grew up on. Hard to break traction like the old days, but a teenager would turn off the traction control probably in crash it into a curb.

I def agree on the 1st car thing, ive already started teaching him how to drive but remember we can set a key to only be able to go so fast... lol

There are plenty of nice convertibles out there, due to lots being a pleasure garage stored vehicle. I started my Mustang quest by looking for a Fox Body, ended up with the 2020 Mustang after a lot of thought. I was very serious about a beautiful low mileage convertible on Ebay but the seller did not return my question and poor comms on an out of state deal was no bueno. I did not want to do a restoration, and was willing to spend 25-30k for the right car. Fox Bodies were the car to have when I got my license and my next door neighbor bought a new one in 1988. I still would love to have one but they are just too expensive at thisi point, like everything else. Like the 69 Camaro or 67 Corvette they will be too valuable to drive one day which takes the fun out of it.

It should only take a day or 2 to do the actual work. But dealer service departments don't work in a linear fashion. Your tech will likely be taken off the job multiple time. 6 weeks is too long to get it diagnosed and fixed unless there is a parts delay.
Best a luck to you. A dealership trip is always an apprehensive pain. I have 4 yrs of powertrain left.

Fortunately no obscure noises and such, that only my car makes. 😳

They told me it's a parts delay. The first two weeks were diagnostics. They ordered the small block the second week, so I've been waiting 5 weeks for parts. I'm not even 100% sure they're even working on my car, I just drove by the dealership and my car was not in the spot that it has been in the whole time.

It's a comedy of total incompetence and they wonder why foreigners are killing them in the market LOL.
Now their transitioning to EV. I love Ford but I don't like the direction their going.

Just leave our Mustang alone and give us a good V8. I want the 5.2 as an option with pp2 suspension. Basically a 350, but with GT badges.
