Our lead has us come in to work early and all anyone did was just BS and waste the early time and then just had a normal work day. Extra hour of pay and no additional work done. Our lead is great!

The hour I'm in before everyone is my most productive. No one bothering me with problems.

It's that way for most I think. My work is 100% reactionary, actually get many side eyes for being found guilty of forethought. It's the army way. Although I work FOR the army, I'm not in the army. "Leadership" is all prior officers so it's whatever. As long as the bank transaction happens every 2 weeks I'm happy. This place is always entertaining if you manage to keep your mind too invested. Best dead end job I've ever had. Working on 12 years now.

I prefer to be pissed-off at work. ie finding stupid sh*t and fixing it. I never lack for things to do. Don't make friends though.

I spend half my day pissed off and dealing with stupid issues. Then I get immense satisfaction once I fix the problem. Doubly so when it's a unique or elegant solution.

And then someone comes around and wrecks it...or maybe that's just my job lol.

the universe has an infinite number of idiots who are quite adroit and skilled at breaking things - esp. software. Or put another way, programmers are pathologically incapable of understanding that users NEVER do what you think they should do. You must treat them as the enemy.
