All I know is. If I was the OP I'd be beating my head against a wall right now. The advice in this thread is all over the map. Learn to drive. Buy tires. Go to driving school. My car does great in the rain and snow. Don't know why everyone say that?? Use traction control! Don't use traction control! Admit you were flooring it??? Like a car cant lose transaction with any less than full throttle in the rain?
Don't think the OP was complaining as much as just making conversation.

Some of the answers were to try and help, but the bottom line is the OP
just needs to take it easier driving (and I think he/she probably knows that).
Aside, from snow (or occasional super oily patch), there is no reason to be
spinning the tires on wet pavement.

Coyotes are not that torquey. Try starting in second gear, you know the first
gear ratio that most autos had for 40 odd years. Coyote won't get out of it's own
way then, out of the hole.

Compare that to an older BB with an F78-14 tire. Many could literally smoke the
tires at will, on dry pavement with 1/3 throttle (or even less), but could still be
modulated in the rain.

Your hand position on the steering wheel makes me nervous.
Very likely an artifact caused by the immediately preceding ~48 mph/1.25g right hand turn (OE 3-point restraint). No instructor has ever mentioned anything. Actually, I wish the spokes were located a little lower so I could get closer to 3 and 9, but that's a separate matter.

My point was to demonstrate that it's entirely possible to "keep up with" unexpected slipperiness in real time without stability control systems (which was not available on my '08) or TC (present but so utterly worthless that I turn it off) - and now that you mention it, even coming immediately after a somewhat compromised hand positioning.

It's pretty much instinctive for me to catch slips like that before the situation goes completely Tango Uniform, which I suspect is not the case for drivers who have grown into driving with stability control always there in the background.

He hasn't been back since his second post in this thread, so he may be making good on his promise to go MIA. Means we'll likely never know why he started the topic.

You are just looking for an argument when there is none. Enjoy.
Just use the "block" feature!

I've only had to do that to 3 people on this forum (one just last week), which isn't really that bad if you think about it.

It's a great tool to avoid inane discussions with immature trolls.

good tires will solve this... I have Contin DWS06 and my car handles kick ass in the rain... almost as good as dry...
I agree. Just put these tires on recently and night and day compared to the garbage Pirelli's that came stock. The Pirelli's were terrible in the rain.
