On the track this Mustang is clearly better than its GT predecessors, with some of the aplomb and steering response that distinguishes the outgoing Boss 302. But it's on the road that it comes alive, the rear suspension gripping when you need it to but always just a throttle adjustment away from a micrometer precise rotation, the motion of the body so well controlled despite the weight, the trustworthy feedback from all four corners. This is the best mustang ever, the best ponycar ever, a mutant with DNA from the Fox 5.0 and the BMW e46 in seemingly equal measure.

I think that pretty much sounds like a winner in my book!

How did it feel compared to the M4??

Was the GT PP suspension be comfortable enough as a daily driver?
We didn't have an M4. We had an M3. I, personally, would rather have the Mustang over the BMW. I am biased, yes, but as fast and competent as the BMW is (and it is stupid-fast), the Mustang, to me, is the more involving car to drive. It talks to you more.

It destroys the M235i, IMO.

PP suspension is more than friendly enough for daily street driving. This is about as perfect a setup as you could have hoped for....until the SVT car arrives.

Yeah, his definitely stood out. But to be honest, I was looking around for more measured or even negative impressions. I wanted to try to balance out my obvious enthusiasm and bias just a little bit.
I'll ask the guys if anyone recalls the odo reading.

I was noodling a change from my car to a Focus ST. Now I may sit a year, let the hysteria ease, and go for the GT.

Not really impressed with the numbers. I would rather see some track figures to directly compare against the outgoing model and the current 1LE Camaro to see where it stacks up.

According to prior articles in R&T about the Boss 302, that car clocked 12.3 in the quarter and I seem to recall almost every magazine being able to get high 12's in the GT. Unless it does a better lap around Laguna or VIR than they may have missed their mark on performance.

Keep in mind ^^ this is the only guy here who has driven it so far. Good enough for me.

Thanks for the review Nunez

Since this will be my DD, I'm happy to hear this. I know I'll be happy with this car for years to come.

Agree after reading these articles there really is nothing at all to be excited about. It's slower than the 14 GT in the 1/4, greatly slower in the 1/4 than it's self proclaimed goal, the Boss. While no actual head to head testing has occurred yet on the track I suspect that it will be slower than both the Boss and 1LE.

Bottom line after all the hype the following similar priced cars will beat you:

1/4 Mile
11-14 Mustang GT
12-13 Boss Mustang
392 Challengers (SRT8 Core & R/T Scatpack)

Track
Boss Mustang
Camaro 1LE

disgree 100% no actual comparisons out there... different mags/ different drivers get vastly different 0-60 times so you cant pick and choose to make your arguement.... and there was no basis for any kind of track comparison other than some figure 8 and skidpad which means nothing

Trap speed is higher for 15 then the 14 GT..I call that a bad driver.
