Fixing a front skid requires the driver to do a few things that are counter-intuitive. Natural response is to brake, and if already braking to brake harder, and add more steering. Both are wrong.
If your are braking and steering and your are understeering you need to soften pedal pressure, even...
A little bird whispered to me that the GT350R competition car may not use the 5.2FPC but instead the 5.0 Roadrunner from the Boss 302R and S models. Also not expected to turn a wheel in anger until next season.
The last time I was pulled over I got a warning, but it could have gone WAYYYYY worse!
A few years ago a friend of mine worked as a trooper for the WVSP. I was getting ready to head up to Baltimore so I sent him a text as he patrolled the I-81 corridor between me and the MD state line...
thePill, you keep harping on the use of a cage or partial cage in these prototypes. Stop. Having been around engineering mules I can tell you that they all use a protective cage of some sort in the test vehicles for liability issues. I am sure that they add some rigidity to the chassis, but I am...
When I bought my Boss I found a dealer selling at under MSRP. When I asked why, after signing the papers, they told me they would rather build a good customer relationship than make a few extra buds on just one sale. Their policy was to never charge ADM on a vehicle. This dealer is DARCARS in...
Looking at the charts, 4,000 or so a month seems to be the trend for Camaro sales in January over the last few years, and as I pointed out earlier, they are slightly up over last year. I am not saying they will match month to month for the year in sales what they did last year, but it is hardly...
My predictions, and my predictions have a horrible track record, are:
No real changes in '16 aside from updates to Sync.
In '17 they will likely respond to the Camaro with more power, maybe 450HP/410 lb-ft torque. EB will continue to get bumps in power and refinement with the V6 eventually...
While that is great news that Ford has sold so many in January, Camaro sales were still up slightly for the month, and Dodge did very well too with the refresh and undoubtedly the press of the Hellcat helped drive customers into showrooms. I hope the sales continue to grow as it would be sad to...
Nice pictures! I wish I had taken photos of the Mustangs I have had over the years. I especially like that you were partial to the '82 and '85. I keep my eye out for either of those two cars all the time, and a few others I that I grew up wanting. I came of age in the 80's, and yes, the 5.0 Fox...
The #15 was having engine issues, it seemed to be down on power. When Billy recycled the ECM during a caution period, he missed his call from the crew to pit because the radio had shut off. He started at the back of the 45 car field and charged Billy style through the field.
The amazing part for me was how fast Johnson was coming through the field. He literally started at the back of the entire field, both GS and ST cars, and ran everyone down. Less than a second separated 2nd to 5th place.
I can't wait to see what he does with the GT350.
Shelby American's Shelby GT: http://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/ford/2015/01/22/horsepower-shelby-soups-new-mustang/22143425/
And the "old" Shelby American S-197 based GT350: http://www.autoblog.com/2013/05/31/2013-shelby-gt350-quick-spin-review/
Shelby American did do a GT350 for a few years, but now the GT350 is a Ford product with Shelby name. Shelby American is doing a Shelby GT this year, but it is not related to the GT350 from Ford, and should not be confused with this car.
I thought I was the only one confused by that rambling!
We do know it will be a 5.2L flat plane crank engine, we do know it will be lighter than a "regular" GT350.
What remains to be seen is how much more than 500 HP and 400 ft-lbs of torque it will produce, and how much lighter it will...
