Tires are gone and I'm going to get a set of 19x11 Apex with MPSS. I'd like to do a few minor mods for better traction. Daily driver, mods but not FI, and will never see a track (a shame I know)

What are the must haves in order of impact?

Start with the CB005 to help reduce wheel hop and go from there.

CB005 for certain and BK055 or BK081 if you're feeling adventurous.

Thanks Ivan. I was thinking TR005 and TCA047 too. Will the 3 kill the ride quality?

Not feeling that adventurous...cutting out and pressing in new bearings may be a project for another time. Also considering the Viking drag shocks and the drag springs for the rear, but that may be overkill. Hard to start slow when there is so much cool stuff to buy...

BmacIL looks like you recommended the performance vs the drag springs. Ride quality or preference? And do you have to change all 4 springs or can you just do rears? Like the guy who traded in his Bullitt, I have the PP.

You're welcome.

I never cared to mess with the toe rods so I can't comment about that.

I advise you not to get the delrin vertical links.

If you decide to get vertical links, get the ones with the spherical bearings because they will be more trouble-free. Fellow members have posted about the delrin ones wearing out and creating noises from increasing free-play.

I would strongly recommend doing all four to get all the performance benefits. The drag springs have softer front and firmer rear springs than the PP. The performance springs are an excellent package, only just slightly firmer than the PP stock springs, and maintain the balance of the car. You will notice reduced roll, squat and dive while not compromising ride quality. Some even have remarked improved ride. SP080s or SP089/SP082 with PP shocks and struts, the BMR cradle lockout and Steeda billet mounts is a superb combination. Ask Lexman and many others.

Thanks BmacIL! I'll have to look up the Steeda billet mounts.

I typically prefer to recommend my favorite 3 mods, which I also use on multiple cars including my daily driver PP GT. I drive the car about 100 miles each day, and I love it.

CB005 Cradle Bushing Lockout Kit
BK081 Lower Control Arm Bearing Upgrade (I use the BK055 on my racecar, 081 on DD)
TCA046 Vertical Links

These 3 modifications make a larger impact than any other part or package of parts, and provide better performance than any other set-up for the same price range.

They will help all around, not just wheel hop or drag race.

Enjoy!

Thanks all! Seems like the cradle lock out is unanimous, with a couple of votes for the vertical links and LCA bearings. Appreciate all the responses!

It can be daunting to figure out the suspension upgrades. I knew I wanted to lower my car some, but without screaming 'LOWERED!’

I went with the SP089/SP082 springs, Lockout Kit, PP Shocks/Struts, and Steeda billet mounts as BmacIL mentioned. I can tell you it is an amazing combination that is a lot of bang for the buck, doesn't beat you up when drive (still have compliance while improved handling), and imho a really, really, nice look/stance on the car.

If you’re not looking to lower, the cradle lockout is a solid choice that almost anyone will agree to do.

Enjoy the search, ask questions, and happy modding!

Allow me to gush here for a moment. I've just installed the BMR SP089/82 springs, having the base GT springs with the Steeda fixed dampers.

It's quite transformative. The car actually rides more supple! Pretty close to BMW's I've driven. Massive reduction in body roll and the stance is freakin awesome.

I can't comment yet on how these feel at the track, but will be attending 3 HPDE's in the coming weeks.

These springs are awesome.
