Question for guys who actually have the the Roush Kit

Boy oh boy I do not miss the issues with the 2650 Roush blower having constant cat codes. I really thought they would’ve redesigned the 2650 to an inverted blower like everyone else and be more competitive with potential to turn it up. I was a big Roush fan but going through 5 cats on my 19 RS3 I had enough.

So I wanna here from guys (2018/2019) that actually have the kit.
Driving characteristics, power, idle, daily driving and of course possibly et and mph

I'm not looking for more than 600RW (A10)
I have 3.15's which I believe would be good for a PDB

From what I here the newest tune is MUCH better, they made a change to the HE or intercooler pump too.
Again, I know there's kits that make more power but I like the idea of a Roush/Ford product for warranty reasons

I've got a 17 with the Phase 2. I've had it going on two years and not a problem at all. I get 23 mpg on the highway and about 12 around town. Dyno was 654 at wheels. Best 1/4 mile time with R2's a 10.723 @ 128.9. I have zero complaints. I only ran it twice last year at the drags because it took twice to figure out tire pressure and launch rpm. Other than that I don't beat my car. I've got Gforce Outlaw axles and Ford

Track Suspension with Steeda linear springs. Also Barton short throw shifter and exhaust. Personally I don't need any more hp.

The 2300 is a badass blower and loved it on my 17. It outperformed the 2650 and took to upgrades quite easy. I was running at 679whp on my 17 Roush 2300 ion 93 and right around 720whp on 100 octane and was a great set up. Not a single issue or code for the 15,000 miles I had it.

The Whipple cars fail cats often as well.

I seem to remember that the s550 cats from a certain year up are prone to this issue with cats.. Even at stock power levels.. Pretty sure everyone in this thread has had theirs replaced. Thats why I took mine off on this car at 3,000 miles or so... Unfortunately I managed to blow my motor.. $13,000 and 4 months later I have a working Roush P2 with exhaust manifolds and stock cats. We will see how long they last.. Hopefully till emissions next year.

Since the new cats and tune I've noticed a definite odor at full throttle. I assume it's a fuel dump to try to save the cats. It's way more noticeable with the latest tune than the previous.

I don't think cats on any blown car is smart. I'm about to a SC on my 99 vette and it was recommended on it also for the same reason.

Reische 170 Thermostat
VMP Triple Pass Heat Exchanger
NGK 6510 plugs
Upgraded VMP Intercooler Pump

679 on 93
720 on 100 octane

My 17 was a manual transmission so it dynos at higher number than the 6R80 autos

How long are the CATs warrantied for??

Hi all! New to the forum, but have had a 2018 MT w/ a Phase 2 kit for a little while now (bought it used). I recently started to notice an odd exhaust smell at first, and within a couple of days of that, got the infamous P0420 right at 19k miles.. which seems to be a trend.

So I know the Roush warranty replaces the powertrain and isn't transferrable, but does that apply to emissions as well? Just wanting to know if the Ford dealer would (or even should) be covering the factory 8 years emissions warranty or not .

Yep! With a little bit of back and forth, they covered the catalytic converter replacement- Driver side was bad.

anyone know if the roush will get carb approved for 22-23? whipple said theirs is undergoing the process for 22+ but roush said they couldn't disclose

CATs are warrantied for 7 years according to my local (Non Roush) dealer. I had the cat code but it cleared while at the dealership. They told me they entered it into the system and will order new CAT if/when needed on their dime.

How long are the CATs warrantied for??
