The Voodoo motor proves this, bringing gobs more horsepower than its Coyote cousin, but only a little bit more torque. There seems to be plenty of horsepower left in the Coyote design and its derivatives (with some work, of course), but not much torque, and very little indeed in the low-end.Interesting that the max torque figure for the Mustang (400) is actually higher than the 5.0 F-150 (387). Not sure much more torque can be had from the Coyote with a tune. Ford is getting higher peak torque out of the Ecoboost 3.5 V6 (420).
That's not all bad, though. A high-revving V8 it a real hoot to drive.
