If there is no key start which allows you to have a variety of ignition positions, ie just on without starting car how will the SCT hand held tune be activated?
I'm sure I missed this discussion somewhere.
Also, will all the models have the toggle switches?

If it's similar to my Nissan, the car will start if you hold down the brake and push the button. If you push the button alone, it will then be acc. etc. Only the premium have toggles that I know of.

On my wife's Prius, if you press the start button without your foot on the brake the car will turn on without starting.

Edit: eville beat me to it

It is like a Power Button, Push it without your foot on the Brake and it turns on the Electrics like switching to the ACC position on an ignition switch. Apply the Brakes and Push the Button to Start the Engine. There is No Key to start the car and No Key Holes anywhere on the car. It's Completely Keyless. As for the Toggles, Only Premium Eco-Boost and GT's get the Toggles.

I believe Ford has hidden keyholes under the steering wheel in the instance where the keyfob dies (so the car cant recognize it). the actual key is hidden behind a piece of plastic in the keyfob.

I read in the manual that there is a section under the steering wheel to put in the keyfob if it dies. There will also still be a key in the fob and holes on the door behind some plastic.

Question: Can the trunk be opened by pushing the button even if the car batter is dead? On my 2011 it can't, unless you pull down the back seats and go crawling around through the pass-through. This means that I have to keep my jumper cables in the passenger compartment at all times in case the battery dies, which is pretty stupid, to be honest.

Is there no keyhole anywhere? I would have thought there would at least be a hidden key hole for just that reason.

I don't believe you can unless otherwise noted, don't see a key slot in the rear. I worked on my newer pathfinder one time without opening the trunk before disconnecting the battery and I couldn't open the trunk either. My fusion has a key slot in the rear but also has a push button inside next to the steering wheel. Maybe they'll incorporate something like that.

How often does your battery die.. on a new car..? How hard is it to pull down the backseat..?

BTW.. all keyless entries work the same, its safety aspects were were designed by federal regs.
