Ditto! The more important factor is where you are in that power band once you make the shift to the next gear... that will determine good shift points.
Drive to Baltimore MD and get tuned my Adam at Rev auto? Do you have a baseline dyno? Don't get hung up on numbers from a tool used for measuring. It's no different from a scale when trying to lose weight, they all read differently and they all can be manipulated. Wait until it gets cooler outside and then throw it on the dyno if that will make you feel better.I know this questions has been asked before but do u think my stock mufflers are restrictive? What can I do to get those tq numbers up?
You want to shift at whatever rpm range is gonna give you the most average power. Lets say for example that when you shift into the next gear the rpms will fall 1500rpm.Here my dyno sheet
Yeah thats where id shift. Think about it, just becaue power drops off doesnt mean its less power than youd have if you shift. Depending on gear the rpm drop between gears is like 1200-2000rpm. That why I was kinda using the 1500rpm as the example. Thanks alot for u help. So i should b shifting at 7000 even though it looks like I'm losing power after 6500 rpm according to graph? 7000 from 1st gear to 5th 7000?
I wish I wasnt scared to powershift the mt82, plus when you hit fuel cut on this car its like someone pulled the damn e-stop lol. I need a wot box or something, one that comes with a real 2 step too. The launch control is just a wheel hop party on the street, I get way better launches without itOf course practice makes perfect as well.
The faster you can shift, the smaller rpm drop you'll experience.
Lots of youtube videos showing how experienced drivers shift quickly. You should have an idea of what quick shifting looks like.
Something like...
I don't think I can shift that quick on consistent basis...there's just no safe way to do that on public roads if you're pulling all the way to redline. For practice, you can short shift all day though.
