Pronounced Driving Mode Differences?

The valves have to be set in either open or closed mode , then disconnect the harness and install grimmspeed plugs. Whoever installed them may not of had the car running and valves open prior to disconnecting the harness from the valves.

Excellent point and makes perfect sense. I wouldn't be a bit surprised. How hard did you say it was to get at all that under there?

There is 2 bolts near the differential, then the rest (maybe 8) along the width of the bumper. Once that pan is removed you can access the harness. I did my friends on a lift so it was much easier.

Just installed these little gems and they are the cats pajamas! The GrimmSpeed exhaust valve simulators fix exactly what Ford missed. Not sure about you, but I didn't pick up a GT350 to be quiet. My biggest gripe was that the exhaust closed after every shut off. I would constantly find myself in the menu to put the exhaust into sport mode before starting the engine. That and no more 6th gear 'closed' exhaust. Don't worry, it's a nice rumble, and I have a rez delete.

While installing, I couldn't figure out how to get the valves to stay open. So as my morning coffee was doing its job, I retreated to throne and watched a youtube on how to install. He just so happened to mention to start you car, turn it off and wait 10-15 mins. Perfect timing for me after my Morning Meeting! The car opened the valves. This is your time to unplug the connectors with the valves OPEN. That's what you want. Well, unless you want them closed all the time... Mind you, I did all this on the ground. Remove the harness from the valve housing by pulling back on red clip and pressing the red clip down, boom, released. Install the dummy plugs to the wire harness and zip tied em outta the way and presto, Voodoo sounds all the time. 10/10 would recommend. If you're not entirely satisfied with your sound, then might want to consider a different car. Way to go GrimmSpeed for this product!

I'll definitely go back to the dealer... they are 4 miles away and I just bought the car Saturday.

The question remains... with the valves just slightly open, is the car making normal, loud or in between exhaust noise?

Are do the valves open 90 degrees when in loud mode?

Hey man... thanks for checking in. I have not been able to do it myself or get the car to the dealer who really is responsible for correcting as I only bought it two weeks ago.

We've been blasted with about 50 inches of snow the past few weeks and getting to the dealer is just not in the cards yet and the garage is full of snow clearing equipment. I'm out of room.

Given the harness is unplugged I am pretty certain the issue is they installed something like the Grimmspeed units and incorrectly. the valves are only cracked a bit.

Drag mode not being available is totally expected if you're just in your garage/driveway. It requires the transmission and diff to be up to temp before it will make that mode available. Same for the RPM limit. The factory engine limits the maximum engine RPM below 180 degrees F.

Once you get the vehicle looked at you should experience the following for each mode. They are absolutely noticeable and the sport exhaust will be engaged by default in the last 3 modes. Normal mode isn't much louder than an off the lot Mustang GT unless you're WOT and above 4,000 RPM (at which point the valves open regardless). In Sport/Track/Drag the valve will be open by default and will be considerably louder.

Weather mode - reduced throttle map, normal steering default, comfort suspension default, max stabiliity control
Normal mode - 1:1 throttle map, normal suspension by default, normal steering by default, standard stability control
Sport mode - Accelerated throttle map, sport suspension by default, sport steering by default, standard stability control
Track/Race - 1:1 throttle map, race suspension by default, sport steering, traction control off / stability control reduced
Drag - accelerated throttle map, drag specific suspension calibration, normal steering by default, traction control in drag mode, launch control enabled by default

I never tried to go to sport mode before starting !! will try that next time out....also after you installed the valve simulators whats your thoughts on covering the receptacle where the plug was removed...??

I'll quibble a bit with this one - Sport Mode is a rear brake pad saver on the track, so there must be more tolerance built into the stability control. Not as much as track mode, but more than normal.

That would not surprise me. Those were all done from memory so I may have missed a few things.

While I completely agree about not buying a gt350 to be quiet (and a resonator delete), it is a nice option when I'm heading out at 7:30 in the morning on a Sunday and don't want to wake the whole neighborhood. I just wish there was mode memory in the GT350 or at least the ability to open the valves before starting it. I bought the grimmspeed simulators as well but I'm worried the wife will not approve lol.

To have the valves open at startup would require you to flip the switch off before shutting down while the valves are still open, but that’s no big deal.

Ya know, I thought about putting some electrical tape or something over it, but I'm down in south Florida and if I ever wanted to re-install them is spray out the open connecter with some electro-wash, connect and call it good. If was still living in the New England, I'd definitely take more measures to ensure the connector on the muffler stay clean.

Been driving it around for about 3 weeks now, and NO REGRETS. I totally get that some of you guys and gals like having the switch on the fly. I do to! With the Lethal Performance x-pipe and these little dummy plugs, it's not as crazy as you'd think. I live in a quiet neighborhood and I respect my neighbors. If I leave early in the morning, I start it, and then just 'clutch ahead' till get out of the area. I'm not letting the ol' girl idle in the garage sounding like it's summoning Lucifer himself. As far as being a 'cop magnet'? Easy, push in that left peddle and coast on by. 6th gear cruising? Beautiful. It even passed the 'wife test'. No drone, still able to talk just fine on the Bluetooth.
