So what do they use without direct drive? I don't know the differences or why there's even a difference.

They use a dedicated pulley and belt.

What is direct drive?
Direct Drive = A Short Belt ONLY turns the supercharger. (Factory belt says as it came from Ford)

Shared Drive = A Long Belt turns EVERYTHING, including the supercharger

Each of our systems worth with the factory balancer.
Or a customer can use an SFI balancer, if they have a built motor.

Same that we do on GM systems, etc.

So a direct drive is better suited for quick removal and replacement or in case of failure?

if a belt would break on the s/c, then yes, everything else would still work

belt breakage is virtually non existent in this day and age with centri's though

Now, I'm confused. What's the difference between "Direct Drive" and "Dedicated Drive"?

ProchargerTech used "Dedicated Drive" which I had heard before, but Terry used "Direct Drive", which throw me off... ;)

Its like calling a supercharger a blower. Same difference (to the 99% of the people that care)

I'm assuming direct drive is easier to install since you don't have run a new belt around everything?

We could save a TON of money on making our kits if we used China intercoolers, or China made cores. But we literally refuse to, and keep our intercoolers made right here in the USA... tanks, cores, welds and all. That way we control every aspect of the design, and keep american works employed. :)
^^Thank you for that! I'm glad to read that. :usa:
And look at those welds! Awesome. Awesome welds = awesome product.
