I just installed a CARB legal P-1SC kit on my 2017 GT PP mustang and it sucks! I haven't verified the boost pressure, but according to procharger this kit should produce around 8 psi. Below 3500 RPMs the car feels slower then stock and mildly faster above 3500. I had a BAMA race tune with a CAI intake on it before I installed the kit so i'm assuming it had around 400 whp. Throttle response felt great and I could spin my 305 Nitto's in third in the right power band. I'm guessing this kits maybe makes 500 whp. I was under the impression slapping this kit would dramatically improve the acceleration but was sadly mistaken. Has anyone else had this experience? Does anyone know if a custom tune will improve the whp without adding addition components ?

Below 3500 you're probably not in vacuum so it is just sitting there looking pretty, above that you're going to have boost kick in and that's where you'll feel the difference. Custom tune will 100% improve everything about it, the stock tune it comes with is neutered all around, especially if it's CARB legal.

You probably installed it backwards. And it’s sucking all the power out of the engine. Instead of blowing air into the engine.

Check the bypass valve for correct operation, check for boost leaks, get a real tune. The blower will make power, just have to track down any issues you may have.

Great first post tho. Kinda trollish but hey I'm down to help folks out, real issues or not.

Haha. I’ve considering this. The kit was super easy to install. I did run into an issue with the vacuum that operates the bypass valve getting pinched though. I’ll upload some pics in a few days.

I’m going to install a real boost gauge soon to verify pressure. I’ve tried data logging the the MAP pressures but with minimal success. The PIDs for MAP pressure aren’t that straight forward and have read some post that these aren’t very accurate anyway.

Besides the small issue with the vacuum line, I believe the bypass value is functioning correctly. I can hear it blowing off pressure when release the throttle and I verified it was working before I put the front bumper back on.

I realize that it is kinda of trollish, but I spent 6k on this kit and want some answers.

First their is no map pid you want to log maf.Second if u are only making 8psi u cant expect it to knock u back in the seat.Make sure you inatalled everything correct and get a log to a tuner. There are many guys running 9's with this kit tuned right and running more boost.

Shit can the Procharger tune. I did and picked up 60rwhp with no other change than a real tune.

That would explain why I couldn’t find it. I’m assuming the MAP PID I’ve read about was for the ecoboost motors. I did get a chance to log the MAF and notice it was around 83 lbs/min. I’m not sure how to equate that to boost though. Do you or anyone else know of any remote tuners that have experience with centrifugal supercharged s550s? Also, could anyone recommend any dyno tuners in LA area ?

From what I read it should be 6.5 lbs on stage 1 and stage II is 8.5 lbs.
You have a 2017 so not sure what you expected rwhp.
I just purchased one for a 2019 and after talking to tech I should be around 668rwhp with a p-1x and stage II kit.
Procharger tech is on these forums maybe they can help you figure it out in the forced induction forum.

What did the ProCharger Team say when you called them about this issue?

This. Check for boost leaks. Turbos are nice because they compensate for any minor boost loss through where the wastage vacuum/boost line is- but superchargers push the same amount everytime and making sure you dont loose any of it is important to getting what the pulley is intending. Anyway, you gotta get up to 5500-7500rpm to get the scary power.

83 lb/min means he’s making power and actually close to maxing the MAF.

Centris just have a soft initial (low rpm) power curve. It’s in the design of the blower.

Buys carb EO kit, complains, and then wants to know about tuners to negate the carb EO neutering... all that aside 8 lbs should be a real nice improvement, but that’s at 6800 rpm. Let it rip.

Nothing really. They said the datalog I gave them looked fine. I guess I expected more power, it def pulls hard up top but like I said it wasn’t all that impressed.

That's honestly just the nature of a stick car with a centri blower. For stick cars I will always say a PD style blower is much better suited and fun to drive.

    Id verify its making 8psi..

Im gonna be honest with you though. My 850rwhp whipple car was downright FAST. but it didn't feel as fast as my 700rwhp 13 GT500. these S550's are really refined.
