Helping someone install the passenger side style mounted procharger on a 2015 Mustang GT that he purchased from someone we knew. I believe the supercharger kit is 1FW411-SCI. (Passenger mount unit using the oem air box) It has the P1X blower upgrade but everything else is spec as included by procharger. The pulley included measured at 3.60 with a digital caliper (which matches the invoice from procharger) and the belt included is a gates K06882.

My question is, is that the right belt? we sliding the factory tensioner as far as possible and no matter what the belt seemed way too short to slide over any of the idlers while being on the grooved pulleys. The belt is routed per the included procharger official instructions as well has having the head unit clocked in the noted orientation. Nothing is bound up or linked anywhere. I’m at a loss!

Worst case I’m calling procharger first thing Monday but there isn’t a ton of info online for this kit, mostly the newer style kit that mounts to the driver side area!

Thank you!!

You can ether purchase a longer belt or you can modify the tensioner so it can move farther. You will need a grinder to modify it. If you want to know how let me know. If you buy a longer belt you should either get a green belt or a rpm belt both are from gates

I’m just curious what isn’t going right install wise following the procharger method. The manual doesn’t mention modifying the tensioner and although this belt is on the original order invoice for that size pulley, I have no way of knowing if that’s actually the right size belt. I know my brackets and head unit are clocked right, that I triple checked, plus they really are only shaped to go on the engine one way, otherwise the bolt holes wouldn’t line up .

This is what he’s working with. I’ve triple checked belt routing and that’s fine, I’ve made sure it’s not caught up anywhere and it’s fully seated. I personally have an ESS car and I know the belt was tight to get on a smooth idler but this isn’t seeming to work at all. I’m starting to be confident that this is the wrong belt for this kit somehow that they sent. I’ll have to call tomorrow and verify.

I definitely don’t think it’s a clocking issue because the only way to get that pulley lower it would running against the throttle body or the valve cover

The only thing I can think is they gave you the wrong belt
Any idea what belt is supposed to be the right belt for the 3.60 pulley? I can’t seem to find any references online for pulley size vs belt size for this system

How short is it?
Included belt is a 88.3in, I just tried a 89.44in and that still wasn’t possible even in the slightest. I’ve tried slipping it over the factory idler last or the ac compressor. The 89.44 is definitely closer but I still almost feel like I need a 1/2 inch. I’m surprised at this point that it’s THAT short
