Stupid question but are guys hitting the rev limiter without knowing and fuel is being shut of? If you dump the car on high rpm and leave your foot all the way in, it might be just hitting the rev limiter without any traction and causing a nose dive! In the premiums the gauge does lid up red to show you that u r almost at the limiter and guess what the limiter is not even as high as 6750 rpm on my car, it cuts the fuel around 6600 rpm i think!

Not the problem we are having ... I can leave at 2500 and it will shut down power, RPMs will drop to 1000 RPM and then slowly ( very very slowly ) come back up to red line .. As soon as I hit second gear full power is restored and the car hauls ass .. This only seems to happen in first gear and only at the track ..The car never gets anywhere near red line in first gear ..As you have read in the above posts it's problem with the SCT Program missing a key part of the tune .. This key part was missing so the guys doing the programing didn't have access to parts of the ECU needed to fix the problem ... SCT has updated the program so this problem can be addressed ..

The ECU in the new 2015 Mustangs have a few more items to edit than the older ECUs .. It takes time for these problems to pop up and then it takes time to find the lines of Codes and Maps to find and fix the problem .. This happens to a lot of new models as the car makers get more complex programming in the ECUs and factory tunes ..

Ok , Update from the drag strip tonight ... 6 passes leaving the line at different RPMs trying to make the car bog down like it was doing .. The new tune worked great !!! Not once did it ever act up ... Track prep was bad ( normal for this 1/8 track ) The new tune and JLT intake worked great and I picked up 3 MPH over my best MPH with the old tune ..I didn't have time to set up the SCT to data log so I didn't get and logs to send Bama ..

Now that the problem has been fixed I can move on to a axles and some Sticky Drag radials .... :)

Hey smokinzx14r - Thanks for taking the time to keep us in the loop! I'm really happy to hear that you're getting off the line in time here and you're enjoying the setup! Now let's get some meat on the back and get you back on the track!

Let me know if there's absolutely anything else I can lend a hand with in the meantime!

Alex

Nice run!
Few questions:
What was the DA?
What were you running stock?
3.31 gears?

DA 1157 .. 3.55 gears. Never had it at the 1/4 mile stock ... I did run it at our 1/8 track stock and if I remember right my best was 8.70s @ 84

Wow I just checked my door sticker .. code GG ... All this time I was thinking I had 3.55 but I have 3.31s !!!

Now that I think back I test drove a 3.55 car before buying mine and it did seem to run stronger than the one a took home ..

I have the problem described in the thread but I'm not running a tune. It seems to start happening after I've done a fair number of runs but once it starts it happens every time. Even if I let the car sit off for a while It still happens. I'm curious what triggers this to start happening and what clears the conditions (cooling down, restarts, or whatever). If any of the tuner folks have any ideas I'd love to hear them.

Thanks

Torque management is a part of the stock tune.

Disabling it with custom tuning isn't as simple as unchecking a box in the software, it requires fine touches that the experienced tuners make their money with.

I'm a little late to the party, but...

Check out this link, as it should help the "bone stock / no tune" drivers and anybody running into "clutch protection" issues. The datalog in the video is from my car last Sunday afternoon. I fought the mysterious "clutch protection" for months before Alex/yolodouchebag datalogged it and confirmed what I could only guess was happening.

[ame]

Short version: With the factory tune, dump the clutch. Do not slip it whatsoever.

My factory Pirellis (275/40-19, GT PP 6M 3.73s, 28 psi) actually hooked and caused the car to bog on a 3500 rpm clutch dump late on Friday night, with a 1.913 60-foot time. A 3000 rpm dump earlier in the evening netted a 1.884 60-foot time. I couldn't get back into the 1.8s with dumps at 3250 or 3500 rpm, though.

Autos have this problem as well. Waiting on Kenne Bell to get me a fix. If I run the car in select shift mode no problems. But in auto mode same exact problem. 0-60 in 4.6 with a 750 HP car is a joke.
