Hell, if you wanted to add a touchscreen with better software and built in nav, you probably could vs the sync 3 unit for around the same price or maybe even a little less.
I would definitely not be surprised. We'll see if I ever care to cross that bridge.

With all that said, I do agree with you and many others that 301A should be standard. But I think given what you already get as standard equipment on these cars, and the base price creep over the years, the 4 inch screen makes sense from an economic perspective. 301A is a $2,000 package, and while it's definitely worth it for the vast majority of people overall (locking drive modes behind sync 3 is the main issue that I have with the base infotainment), having a base price of $38,650 or whatever it would be is pretty steep for an entry level GT. But I suppose we're already there anyway.

Paying $41k for a car that has few options over base price does sting a bit, not gonna lie. But if I paid $41k and “base” had digital cluster, sync 3, heated side mirrors, and active exhaust, it would make it worth in my opinion.
Or, let’s say the base price was $36k, let me add options I want instead of spending the money for 401A only for the digital cluster and getting crap I’ll never use, lol. But I guess if they did that, less people would actually want to fork over the money for premium 401A.

I agree, it would be nice if you could actually pick and choose. Packages are better for the company, but not for the consumer. But I suppose it is what it is. Would I love a 401A car with all the fixins? Of course. But I've always been a person that's happy with less if it saves me money. The deals you could get on 300A cars pre covid were insane for how much performance and fun these cars provide. I suppose I could have bought used, but I've been burned before buying a "lightly used" manual transmission vehicle, lmao.

oh yeah, Ford definitely found a way to monetize the car as much as they could when they figured out it’s a lot of peoples daily driver.
Stupid crazy that GT with everything is in the low $60,000 bracket. At that price, I’d prefer a CT5-V blackwing

The earlier comment about nav on the cluster got me thinking about head's up display. It would be cool if it could show a white outline or some other marker on the windshield where the actual next turn is. When you are approaching it.

How do you like the magneride suspension? I may try to test drive one whenever they come in and see.

To me it's just OK on normal mode. It needs more ride control. Sport+ is a lot better. I DD the car and leave it on normal most of the time because the Sport+ A10 shifting can be annoying in town traffic.

A couple of things.
Weightreduction. Pony got quite chubby.
NA V8 +6Spd (don´t care if it has a mild hybrid or not)
Better gearing, the MT82 appears to be awfully long legged.
ACC (Would not want a car that i take longer highway drives without, its a lot less exhausting)
Rear Camera (stock already and is mandatory on US Spec)
Headroom, it seems like the S550 has less than the S197 had.
Build and Paint Quality. (my car had 2 different door sills, squeaks and rattles)

Probably a lot more of i think about it.

...and I don't have to touch it for any reason so there's no fingerprints.
I am with you on that one. Touchscreens do not belong in cars.

Yeah, some of the interior rattles are ridiculous, lol.

long legged? Compared to what? The MT82 has short gears compared to a t56 or a t45 or any other mustang I've ever had. You have to hit 5th gear to get a 1:1 ratio. In the past it was typically 4th gear.

At 6500 rpm the speed in 2nd gear on my MT-82 2016 GT with 3.55 gears is 59 mph.
At 6500 rpm the speed in 2nd gear on my T56 2004 Cobra with 3.55 gears is 76 mph.

3rd gear is 86 mph vs 104 mph
4th gear is 110 mph vs 135 mph

If we are talking about a fastback GT Premium, I must be doing something wrong because I can't even get the car to $60k...more like $57k. And a lot of those options are total fluff and don't really give you any real features or amenities. Frankly, the base model gives you a lot, I think. Full LED (or nearly, minus the reverse light and two rear side markers) lighting, intelligent entry, reverse sensors, power seats, auto dimming mirror, etc...that's all very nice.

Living in NH, I have to park mine for a minimum of 4 months. Heated seats and steering wheel is great, but kind of useless since you can't use it during the winter months. My car is a 400A, so no heated wheel, but who cares. At least the insurance is cheaper in the off season.

What can y’all not live without option wise now that there are so many extra things to be had? Also, what do you think should be made standard equipment on the next gen mustang?
The ability to order upgraded quality control for fit and finish. Make quality JOB 1 again.
