It does detect pedestrians. I've seen it activate occasionally when a pedestrian crossed the street in front of me and I slowed down a bit less than the car thought appropriate.
However, it always, always, activated after the pedestrian had already got out of my way. So I wonder whether it's really useful in an emergency situation.
That's the Cars and Coffee System going off and the reason it activates after they are out of the way is because it thinks you are going to miss them. :)

You do not see this? Maybe your dealer can help.

It must only be an option to turn it off on the 2018+, on my car there's no check box next to it unlike the options for cross traffic and BLIS, you can only go to the option and select low, normal, or high for forward collision warnings.

Interesting. I got that from a 2016 owners manual.

That's what I thought. It gives me an option to uncheck everything but that. I'm about to go out to my car now and see if I'm missing something.

The lack of a check mark indicates that there are additional choices available. What do you see when you click on it?

... hahaha, goddam Ford, put a disclosure (>) indicator on those items where there's more detail / additional options. UI by poorly trained monkeys ...

It just brings you to the next menu with the 3 options of low, normal, and high settings for the sensors.

Yeah, that’s what I’ve read. So just set it to low and forget about it. In my case I have it set to high. I consider myself an very attentive driver but I’m not perfect. A little beep here or there doesn't hurt.

I generally keep it at normal. I don't mind it for the street but I wish there was a way to turn it off for track driving.

It is automatically disabled if the car is in track mode.
Wow, I had no idea. Thank's for the info! That explains a lot since it was not sounding off on my last track day. I just assumed the low setting was really low.
