I'll agree except for #2. The performance pack radiator, Torsen, and Brembos are worth the price of admission. You could easily sell the wheels and tires for $800-1,100 too if you plan on getting new wheels and tires. Or be like me, who tells their wife they are getting new wheels and tires and will sell the OEM set. And then be like me again who tells their wife they will sell their OEM set and 1st aftermarket set when they buy their next set.
Sorry. I meant to add "and you're not married" to #2. ;)

Yeah we all know this but the shitty all season tires are biggest reason for the 83 skidpad.Tires are a huge factor when it comes to skidpad.
So are you suggesting that if you put summer tires on a non-PP car, you'll have the same thing? Don't think so. Even if that were true, it'd cost at least $1k to upgrade to summer rubber, and the entire PP is only $2500.

Sure Tires are huge, but they're not going to bring a .83 skidpad vehicle up to .95 by themselves. They will also have little effect on Body roll, which is vastly different between the two set ups.

The non PP set up is perfect for dragsters, cruisers, DD's and those on a budget. Not slamming it at all. My 12 GT didn't have the brembo package and I loved it.

But if you want a car that handles better stock, you want the PP.

0.95, only when the weather is warm.

PP works the other way too, as the temp drops, skidpad will drop lower than 0.83 at some point, and you will want A/S or even winters, and that's $2500 + $1000.

No

But I bet the pp wheels tires alone would bring the base close to .90g

Don't forget I could also easily sell my base wheels/tires for at least $500 and buy a lightly used set of pp wheels/ tires for around $800.
Will I then have a pp car? Of course not, but I'll have a better looking car with a much higher grip limit in the turns (over the base gt)for a few hundred$.

Good enough for me since my car is used for daily driver duty around the Baltimore/Washington area only with hardly any turns.
Manual has no place for my commute. I have another manual decent handling car for the weekend.

You'd be up around .92-.93g with the PP wheels/tires. The 19" A/S will do .89-.90g.

The PP is completely forth it for the brakes and torsen alone. Everything else is just a bonus!

I hate the PP brake pads, they literally will throw dust on your piano black wheels while parked
True dat on the dust. I clean my silver wheels every time I'm done driving it for a while. It's a pain, so when these are worn out I'm gonna try for something that doesn't throw off as much dust. Sh*t, maybe I'll even go with hubcaps, too. (Just kidding. Wow, that'd look like H*LL)!!!

So many differing opinions. It's something I'm considering more and more. I think the GT handles pretty well, all things considered (weight). I just wanted some more confidence in corners.

When I was shopping back in the spring it was recommended to me to get the PP or i would regret it. I got it. I would have regretted it. It's very fun, and I probably haven't even pushed it past 50% in the curves yet.

Plus those brakes...

You'd be better off getting a set of non staggered tires and wheels, so you can rotate. Also the PZero's are terrible! Get a set of anything else for a summer tire.

I agree and understand but really like the look of the PP wheels. Other wheels that look better to me cost way more. I have an awd Murano I can drive in the winter and also a mk7 GTI for the weekend. I will also be trading my stang in for something better in a couple years so the PP tires should suffice.

I haven't driven a none PP S550, just rode in them. It's not just the numbers that are better. The feel of the car is different, even in the passenger seat. PP cars are much more responsive. They inspire you to go faster. The ride really isn't that bad at all. But I'm coming from a 2015 camaro ss 1le. Which beat the shit out of you.

I love the torsen diff. The engagement is great and it has to be one of my favorite diffs so far.

Then you have the brembos up front. Crazy amounts of stopping power. A little touchy though. If you're rolling 150-160, they'll have you down to 60 before you know it.

I'm not sure if regular GTs have this, but there's cooling channels under the car for cooling the brakes. I'm not sure how effective, but they're there.

It's an amazing car overall. If you're getting a manual, there's no reason not to go GTPP.
