Funny I just sold my S2K ! For a second I thought you were talking to me.

Haha nice! Seems a lot of S2000 owners are getting into these new Mustangs. Car is finally much more of an all around sports car now!

Before that I had a Z06, so I've been all over the place. Wanted a V8 again, loved the convertible, still prefer a manual and preferred a 4 seater this time so I could drive it more (my S2K was an 07 and only had 25k miles) - this seemed like a nice fit (got a GT convertible, manual with the PP being delivered this week)

Automatic and the super dusty front brakes were 2 of the big reasons I didn't buy a PP. But if they make a automatic convertible PP in 2017, I may just trade mine in and deal with the dusty brakes.

Kind of funny since the S2K and the Mustang GT are like automotive polar opposites! But only an S2000 owner would consider a Mustang to be a roomy car. :)

I have always loved the S2000, but never owned one. My dad had one, was a great car. Talk about insane resale values, they are going up and up, especially for ultra clean low mileage ones. My wife has an MR2 Spyder, and I tried to talk her into trading it for an S2K, but no dice, she likes her car.

If you plan on upgrading wheels with any thing else that has a decent quality to them, it's worth it. Since PP also gives better brakes, suspension, and gears, it's a MUST HAVE for anyone who doesn't want to keep their car stock.

There are a few things you need to look at before you decide. For the money the PP can't be beat but there are some caveats.
Do you plan on tracking the car?
Do you plan on modding the suspension?
Do you want different wheels and tires?
Do you want the shorter rear end?
If you plan on tracking get the pp, for 2.5k you can't beat it for 4k it would be close. The PP brakes are overkill for any type of street driving, but they look awesome which is the point I guess.
I don't plan on tracking mine anytime soon, so no need for big brakes or chassis bracing, though I have to admit it looks sexy.
I think all mustangs sit an inch too high so suspension mods are a necessity in my book.
I found the perfect set of wheels (for me)before I even bought the car, being 18's tires are much cheaper. Plus I have hated every set of Pirreli tires I have ever tried and judging from the forum, I was not wrong about the corsas.
I drive on the Autobahn alot, so I wanted the taller rear end to keep the revs lower at high speed.
wheels and tires were $1300 alone springs were like $180, and not changing the gears saved me over $500 in parts and labor. Depending on what I can get for the stock 17's and find the K and strut braces I may actually save some money.

TLDR: PP is worth it unless you plan on changing everything anyways.

2500+1700 for recaros so a little less then 4200 is what I got mine for with the seats combined, but just the PP for 4500 is a bad deal.

Spend the $2500 on beer and hookers. You'll get more out of them.

The PP is great if you're going to take the car to the track (road course, not 1/4 mile) a lot, especially if it's hot where you live. If you are just doing general performance driving on the street or only occasionally going to the road course, IMO the PP isn't worth it. The brakes on the base GT are awesome. I've had mine on the road course (albeit on a cold day) and the brakes held up great.

Or buy a gay front emblem and never drive the car. But seriously, $2500 for all the parts that comes with PP is totally worth it 100%.

I test drove a few GT's without the performance pack and then a couple with it. Night and day difference. The non PP really felt so loose and boatlike. With the PP is what convinced me to buy the car. Gears make a massive difference as the car without them did not feel very fast(I know it's more of a feel then actually being faster by a lot) Handling felt a ton better as well. Of course you can upgrade stock suspension to be better but the package comes with so many upgrades that it is completely worth it! Brakes felt a ton better and perform a lot better than stock ones according to 60-0 numbers I've seen and of course if you ever track the car it will perform much better!

The 60-0 number on the PP is with better tires.
Unless there is something seriously wrong with regular 4 piston calipers, there should not be a huge difference in braking if everything elses equal. The bigger rotors and calipers are nice during repetitive braking on a race track.
BTW how do you tell when is your car built? On the bottom of the sticker mine says 120151002XXXX, does that mean mine is built on the 10/02?

I put the k-brace and stb on my non-pp and it really significantly tightened up the front end dramatically.
