It's def worth it unless you plan on modifying a lot. The car will not be as good of a daily driver (its not all that great without PP, still really stiff). The stock brakes are pretty much 4 caliper Brembo's and do just fine. You also have to really be into them black wheels... I am not. Don't let the people with PP hear that though, they flash that "PP" around like it was a bar of gold and elite, expect them to troll my post saying so :)

OP, add extra weighting factor to the wheels. They are what is most visually noticeable to you and others. IOW, if you decide to get other wheels and tires, then you are looking at another 2500 just for those. At that point you've spent 5000 extra, and you can't even convert the PP wheels into winter setup easily.

In my case, the automatic was more important, which forces me into DIY performance package. And my first mod will be new wider wheels and tires.

If automatic is not an issue, and you like the PP wheels (they now come in silver, too), then yeah, PP for 2500 is a no-brainer.

You could sell the pp wheels I'd think for what $750 or so? And then swap tires over to new wheels and only spend around $1000 or so out of pocket.

Once he starts looking at what's available for wheels, and tires, then it is not so simple. Diameter? Width? Square or stagger? It is not a given that he can reuse his OEM tires, or that it is easy to sell the PP wheels, or what he can get for them. If he likes the PP wheels, get the package. If not, then the math gets a little trickier. I am not speculating, bc I went through all this myself (as did others - the threads are out there).

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of the wheels but I like them much better than any of the other oem wheels. I wish they were gun metal and I'd be happy with them. Also the brakes and diff make a big difference! Just those two things are worth the $2500 I think. Everything else is just icing on top.

Then get them in silver, and you can have them powder coated gunmetal later if you want. The silver wheels can be made into any color. It depends a lot on car color.

IMO, the brakes are over-weighted in performance gain, unless you track the car. Same for the Torsen. But the whole PP car is configured to survive track days, so...

It's a great value package to be sure.

I would agree that you should like the wheels before going with the PP. But if you don't, the wheels are pretty easy to sell at $1000-1200 if they are brand new with brand new tires. The brakes alone are work at least $1500, the diff and 3.73 rear end are worth money, and as was said, the rest is just icing.

Sure you can buy "better" components, but not really cheaper. You get more than your money's worth with the PP, and most people will be thrilled with the equipment it has. If you plan to go crazy with a full suspension swap, new brakes, new (quality) wheels and tires, etc, you will have better stuff but it will cost you at least $5k or more.

Ya, I had 3 S2000's over the years.
Nice. Just sold my supercharged S and picking up 16 gt as soon as it arrives at dealer. Thought I recognized the screen name from s2ki. I'm Moddiction over there if you're on there still.

I went by "Y2KS2K" on s2ki. I haven't been there now in years. I was one of the first people to join, I think my membership number was in the 100's.

No PP for automatic.
Didn't care for the wheels anyway.
I wanted a more comfortable ride. Had an RX-8 R3 previously and that thing rides so harsh I would bang my head against the Recaro seats constantly.
