I am only saying:
Look at the brochure. People who have ordered Dark Saddle get leather/leather. People who ordered Premium Trim getting Vinyl/leather and paid $400 extra? I mean that makes no sense. I am happy with my Dark Saddle what I ordered.

If there isn't a foil on top of the dashboard on the PP, why did our member got it replaced if it was "only a protection"?
Makes no sense too. Anyway. We will see for ourselves what it is.
no,

everyone gets leather seating surfaces and the rest is made out of some form of not leather..

it is like that almost everywhere. even in the 100k plus cars.

I'd hate to think what a true piece like this would do in the sunlight. The appliqué is fine. It looks nice and no one can tell its a vinyl.
I can tell mine is vinyl but I like the way it looks and I think it will 'work fine last long time'. I am not going to stress about it. (I'm saving all my stressing for the no spare tire option and a fitment thing that Ford QC sent down the road :) , actually I knew about the no spare tire thing and the fitment thing is being fixed so I'm not stressing about much these days and really just enjoying the car, we do need to start a seeing eye dog fund for the QC department though. )

I can see why others are disappointed in the PP dash though. Expectations were that this would be really old school retro looking bare metal, which would have been 'way cool' instead of only 'fine'.

Think it'll be easier to clean (Stay Clean) + Resist scratching from kids fingernails among other ways of marring a delicate machined finished bare metal.

Kids fingernails? Wow. Man what kind of kids are you raising and what are you feeding them so their fingernails scratch metal???

Aluminum is very soft. I can see being able to scratch it with your fingernail.
