I just called power stop today. They have no ETA on the rear pads.

Maybe I’m just going to eat shit and buy the carbon tech pads

Yea I'm going to do the set up. I'm getting the Carbotech 1521's for my rears ordering them today and then going to order the Power Stop fronts. Who knows when there rear pads will come out :like:

I would be afraid of two different brake compounds.

Different rates of friction changing brake balance. Maybe an issue. Maybe not.
I retired from a major sports car company and we would never condone the use of different brake pads front to rear.

Thanks, after of your comment I did a little more digging and spoke with carbon tech and I think you’re right it could be an issue. I just ordered the matching front carbon tech pads.

I will sell my power stop pads brand new unused if anyone is looking

Is there less dust with Power Stop vs Carbotech?

After doing research it seems like there would be no problem with different brakes front and rear. Only if you were doing different brakes left to right. Also they were very close to the same compound and carbon ceramic

Personally it’s something I wouldn’t do.

I don’t see the issue. Do you know how often a car gets brake pads installed that aren’t the same as the other axle? Like 100% of them.

I make no claim for tracking conditions, but there is zero reason to be concerned for street driving.

You are welcome to do whatever you wish. Some cars and customers are a lot more sensitive to it. It can seriously screw up brake balance on rear engine cars. Worked on hundreds of them.
