Kind of a newb this to ask and have happen, but I had do a roadside fix on my new custom shift knob with super glue. Got me through the weekend but I didn't consider that I'll be needed to do a clutch soon.

Looks like there might be a chance I can remove the shifter from the trans and leave it in the car. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

On second thought, I forgot the reverse shift collar rests up in the shifter knob so I guess there's no way to get acetone to the threads without drilling through the shift knob from the top.
That being said I'd try a sample nut super-glued to a bolt to see if acetone even works first.
