16 GT with PP. I have never had a shifter with this much slop. Love the car hate the shifter. It's relatively easy to miss a gear on the way up or down when shifting fast. 6th to 3rd 5th to 2nd. And have been driving stick for over 40 years including tractors with 20 gear and two stick duplexes. Really feel they should be covered under warranty. Anyone else with this issue? Have you replaced with short throw or plan on replacing? If so what shifter? Looking at the Barton hybrid 3

Planning on replacing mine. But my stock shifter is solid and tight.

This is my first modern Manual car, prior to that it was a 76 F150 3 spd with a granny gear. I think it's tight, I have missed 3rd and gone into 5th before but I haven't done it since getting used to it,

My father who has driven manuals his whole life commented on it saying it's tight but the gears are closer together and slide easier then any other manual he has driven.

Replacing the shifter certainly will make a big improvement, but I found a pretty good one for very cheap in this:

Replaces the stock mushy EPDM rubber bushing in the shifter bracket (tail of shifter goes into it).

I love my barton shifter, and they just came out with an even better one

I just had a steeda tri-ax race put in. Makes a big difference. That said, even stock I've never managed to go from 5th to 2nd.
