I guess, but only marginally. Any kid with a pry bar can pop the glass and make short work of the glove box or console. The trunk is even worse as most cars now have a trunk pop button, they don't even have to break into it.Yes it is.
If nothing is in view they have no reason to "pop the glass"I guess, but only marginally. Any kid with a pry bar can pop the glass and make short work of the glove box or console.
Being that there really isnt any room in the vehicle (Aside from in the trunk I guess) to install a lock box, the glove box is fine. If someone smashes the window out of my car to steal it, and then breaks open the glove box to get the gun, they would be able to break into the lock box too. What you say is true. It is also very limited.
As the man said, best case is to always have it on your person. I don't, even though I should, but it is always in easy reach. I readily admit that won't help in every circumstance but that's what I choose.
However, and this is where your statement falters, if you drive a vehicle and carry you should have some means of securing the firearm if you're forced to leave it in the vehicle. Locking it in the glove box, console or trunk is not securing it. Some sort of secured to the vehicle lock box is needed. In other words, a lock box is not for convenience while driving but to secure it while you cannot have it on you.
The Mustang isn't that difficult to secure a gun in a lockbox. Something like this would work. Loop the cable around a seat frame and tuck it under the seat. Or in the trunk around something permanent.Being that there really isnt any room in the vehicle (Aside from in the trunk I guess) to install a lock box, the glove box is fine. I would never leave the pistol in the magnetic mount in plain sight while the vehicle is unattended. Having it in a holster while seated is uncomfortable and combersome. whether hip or apendix carry, go sit in your car with your seatbelt on and tell me how convenient it is to draw your weapon - you can't.
Concealed carry, or open carry for that matter is a full time commitment. You need to be prepaired not only to use deadly force, but for the ramifications of making that decision- especially in Liberal controlled states. Car jackings or road rage incidents are the most common situation where you may have to defend yourself. Beyond that, carrying the weapon into stores, or other public places is now a situation where you either plan on a future altercation to save your own life, or the lives of others and that can be a slippery slope.

I do not think it is sad. My right as a human is to ba able to defend myself. I also have the right to use the best tool for the job. It's not just people I have to defend against. there are bears, mountain lions, venomous snakes and other dangerous wild life.Lots of non-American residents shaking our heads while reading this thread. What a sad place you have there.
You just wish you had our freedoms, Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness are inalienable rights that no man shall deny. A gun is merely a tool that when misused can be deadly, guns don't kill people, people kill people.Lots of non-American residents shaking our heads while reading this thread. Until it was.A discussion on gun rights wasn't part of it.
