Thanks

I wasn't planning too; for fun or for a parituclar reason?
Both. Mostly to CYA. Plus it will be nice to see things you might have missed. I drove from Boston to Tennesee and the vantru dash cam picked up a bunch of things I didn't notice while transporting an old car on a u-haul trailer.
And waze is a great app.

Get a spare tire kit, cause the goo inflator is pretty useless. You can get a kit that has a jack, wheel/tire, spacer and hardware. If you cut a tire or get a big hole, you will be stranded and need a flatbed, and the chances of a local tire store having a tire in stock, especially the rear, is very low.

I just did this with my GT350 that I bought in Feb, picked up in SoCal and drove it back to WA. Bought some oil, didn't need it. Great road trip car, have fun.

Am a little curious why you are putting tape on a car with 11k miles. Assume therefore it doesn't have PPF. Can't imagine it doesn't already have a few dings anyway with that many miles and could skip it. Planning on any necessary paint correction and PPF when you get it home?

Lots of great suggestions on here but for a 1000 mile trip home wouldn't worry too much about bad events if the tires are good. Should already have the compressor. Can get a spare tire kit when you get back. And if she does need a tow make sure to get a flatbed and read the owner's manual.

You are probably already aware since shopping for a GT350 but just a reminder not to run WOT on the way back until she's up to 190 degrees.

Mileage in a lot of cases doesn’t dictate condition. Even with 11k on the clock the car can still be blemish free, just depends on how it was taken care of. Tape is just cheap insurance. No reason to not spend $10 and a few minutes if he wants to preserve that.

it’s pretty pristine, was well taken care of by orig owner so I don’t mind a little effort to mitigate unnecessary blemishes

The Unidens are EXCELLENT long range detectors. I have lots of experience with the R1s and they have saved my bacon countless times.

Always worth the wrap for sure, but any car that doesnt have blemishes at 11k miles was only driven in a subdivision alot :)

The road trip is complete, I got my gt350 home!

First impression:

Was expecting worse mileage, this is nearly as good as my 2012 GT did on the highway.

The tramlining with the super sports isn't too bad, but you feel the road, but I like the driving experience.

Really like the tremec.

Pulls pretty good, but then around 5k seems to really start breathing.

This thing wants to turn! Didn't have a lot of opportunities to feel the cornering aspect out much but the grip is incredible, it sticks to the road and just goes!

The recaros are pretty comfortable and overall it's a "mustang" interior but it's a little better than my '12 gt california special I think.

Checked the oil before starting the ~1000 mile trip and I think (a little hard to read) it was at the top hole. At 500 miles in, it was basically the same. And checked after completing the trip and it might be just below the top hole now... so not sure how much that'd equate to but seems like insignificant oil consumption.

Really happy with my choice so far; waiting for next opportunity to drive it!

Nice. I just made a highway run the other day and with 350 miles or so got 25.6mpg. My truck gets 10 going down hill with the engine off. Really loving this car.
Glad you had a nice trip.
