4/8/15: Today I got the Whipple system in. I purchased it from HyperMotive. I am very pleased with them and would recommend them.
The Whipple... opening these boxes was better than the last 5 Christmas mornings combined. It arrives in 2 giant boxes. One is dedicated for the blower/manifold/intercooler assembly, and the other is all the supplements.
That second box is like a bottomless pit of toys. They just keep coming and coming. I work in manufacturing (specifically automotive performance) and I know what it takes to put this stuff together. This is some impressive and thought out work.
Laying out all this stuff, it was clear: This system is a *value*. Sure, its "expensive", but I dont feel like its over-priced at all. There is just so much stuff here, you really are getting more than you paid for. The centri kits are obviously less expensive... but they also obviously require less stuff, so its plenty fair game. I think everyone is offering a good value.
Now let me put this out there right from the start: Please do not interpret anything I post as me claiming this system is the superior option or best value or most power, or anything like that. I am simply going to talk about my experience with *this system*. I wish to stay out of the battles. We all have some great kits to choose from. I chose this one.
OK with that said, picture time.

Whipple un-boxing:
That is all for today. Thanks! :ford:
4/15/15: I put about 25 hours into the install, but that's cramming it in mostly 2 days work, and I start to get slow and bored after a few hours of working on the same thing. Now that I "get it", I think I could do the install in more like 15-18 hours.
Its very thorough, that's why it takes some time. This kit is insanely comprehensive and comes with LOTS of stuff.
I meant to post up earlier, but I have been so busy at work. The car is waiting for the ECU to get back from Whipple. It just got to them today, I am not sure how long they will have it before it comes back to me. I am crossing my fingers they sent it back same day or tomorrow, because then I could be driving the car this weekend.
I am going to dyno it and within a couple weeks start working on the fuel system so I can switch it out to E85. This will require a custom tune of course.
Theres a lot of notes I took down in the installation manual that I will post up that could save others some time.

How I left it the first night, most of the junk removed:
A lot of stuff removed that isnt going back:
The knock sensor sub-harness after I modified it, this is part of the install to clear the intake manifold and intercooler assembly that just maxes out on available space:
Knock harness installed.. If I did it again I would just split it further back and go straight out the back of the motor on each side rather than Y together before the back of the block. Because the way it is now, I still had to push the manifold back and squeeze the harness a little to get it lined up.
Real nice manifold
Now I was being a know it all and figured I could install the rails and injectors later on... bad move. They need to be put in before the blower. Well, at least the passenger side does. I had to remove the blower to go back in and do that.
Just before removing the blower to do the rails and injectors:
Fuel system is all done now. I made my own lines for it just because I am a fuel system freak. In my next update when the car runs I might have pics of what I did there.
Will it run tomorrow? Friday? Who knows, will see when I get the ECU back.
