Added some more pics from the install process last night. I have to run through my notes I added to the instruction manual soon and see I think they are valuable enough to bother posting.

You can have your local dealer reflash back to stock.

I think I will start on the install tomorrow. I was planning to start last night but I didnt. The reason I havent rushed it yet is because I am hung up on the tune.

Do I send my ECU off to Whipple to get their tune which I paid for in the kit, or do I skip that and go straight to a custom SCT tune from Lund? If I go with the custom tune, I will do the fuel system immediately. My only concern is that the fuel system and custom tune could hold up the car from running for up to a couple weeks depending on how long I take to put together the fuel system, and coordinating remote tuning based on availability with Lund and the dyno I have access to.

Part of me just wants to get the car running and driving ASAP.. but if I go with the Whipple tune, I have to send the ECU back to Whipple again later to get it put back to stock before I can SCT tune it.

HMMMM.

I can tell you the whipple provided injectors if that is what you purchase usually run out of steam around 670rwhp.

I do have them and will be running them for the duration of the Whipple tune. When I do the fuel system build for E85 I will swap in 1000cc injectors!

I'm really curious to see how this compares to your 370z as a whole. The z platform is both famous for cornering ability and notoriously infamous for being underpowered stock. But yours being at 670 rwhp, that thing is a rocket lol.

It'll be really interesting to see which ends up being more fun to drive, as I think especially with E85 your mustang should put out at least 100 more hp - but will be heavier. Granted there's other factors, like interior quality and styling that add to the experience as well.

Im happy to see someone interested in the comparison. Youre right, the 370z is unfortunately a bit under-powered even though its current V6 engine does sort lead the way as far as all-motor 6 cylinders go... its still just not enough for most people to happy with when its in a dedicated sports car. I believe the record bone stock 1/4 mile is a 12.9 though, so its not terrible, though mid 13's are what is to really be expected from the car stock.

Guys get them up to 340-350rwhp with basic bolt ons, and one guy recently made it to 375rwhp with exhaust cams and custom intake manifold.

Power to weight, it will be a close match up between my Z and the mustang. The Mustang I can already tell will pull much harder below 60 due to the IRS design. The 370z IRS cambers too aggressively, and the car is difficult to get moving at all below 60mph.

On the top end, the 370z is a monster and pulls cars that make significantly more HP. I expect that the Mustang is going to make the better stop-light and 1/4 mile car, but not have the top end pull of the Z.

We shall see!

If I had to have just 1, and leave it bone stock - well, that would be terrible. I am not sure which I would choose. My Z is a base model with sport package, so it has all the sports upgrades but crap stereo, no nav, lame seats, cloth. Interior technology wise, the mustang kills my Z, but I have never driven a fully loaded 370z to compare.

My largest complaint with the Mustang interior is how high the recaro seats sit. I dont know if the normal seats are lower or not, but at least in these Recaros I am sitting up way taller than any other car I have owned!

Have you found the little lever that lowers and raises the seat?

Funny you mention that, I only noticed it for the first time when going to lean the seat forward to take the back seat out and get to the fuel pump area.

I havent driven it yet all the way down, but I am not sure its going to entirely cure it LOL. It only went down about 1/4 inch maybe a tad more. Perhaps that will change the feel a lot more than I am thinking though.

I got the ECU back a few hours ago, so thats pretty good turn-around. They over-nighted it back to me the day after they received it.

Now do I get this car running, or call it a night and screw with it tomorrow? Hmm.
