Love to see one N4SM! You'll have more than a few customers I think.

Working out best on it, the spare setup is a unique application so we need to ensure that it will meet all the standards.

Itll be based off the popular Project 6GR wheel design so its light but strong.

I've never been so excited for a spare tire before. Consider me pre-ordered.

Hell, order me two and maybe we'll take them to the dragstrip.

Make sure it is narrow enough to fit in the well and I would definitely buy one.

I called Tire Rack to check if the front PP wheel 19 X 9 can be used temporarily in the back 19 X 9.5. They were very quick to "not recommend doing that" apparently the offset is at issue. This is truly a pain in the ass - something that can be serious at the wrong time in the wrong place. I guess it is what it is.
I think its the other way around because a rear will hit the strut if mounted on the front without spacers.

Also, be aware that the factory size tires are too wide to fit in the trunk well. I think most people who carry a spare get slightly smaller tires and/or de-inflate them to get them to fit in the well then pump them up when they get a flat.

My last 4 cars didn't have spares. Saves weight which improves performance AND mileage, the latter being why they are being phased out. Even a fraction of a MPG is worth a LOT in CAFE levies and opportunity costs.

^ This, and the front brakes are the other problem. They'd have to provide a spare large enough to fit over those brakes which I don't ever see them doing.

Woke up this morning to a flat rear P-Zero. Fortunately I was in the garage so I'm not complaining about that. It seems idiotic that a car is designed and manufactured with no spare provided- only an electric pump and patch kit. From what I've been told the small pump and patch kit leave much to be desired. My question is simple - is there any fix for this? Does anyone provide an alternative to the patch kit?
I carry a can of fix a flat that is sensor friendly.

I actually prefer the weight savings of no spare BUT did buy the Ford spare kit for my S197 which I only carried on a few long road trips. I wouldn't mind doing the same with my S550 PP.

So for me, a tire that could be driven on for a long distance would be what I want to put on the wheel. You aren't likely to find a replacement for the brand and size tire on the car in the closest town when on the road.
