You know guys, after thinking about this a bit I realized my S550 is the first car I've ever owned without a spare tire. But on the other hand I've never had a motorcycle with a spare (since 1969). Now in the last 20 years I've taken maybe a hundred motorcycle trips up and down the east coast, out to the midwest, the Dakotas and California. I've had flats but never been stranded. Fix a flat, Slime, and plug kits were used according to what the problem was and the trip continued.
In contrast, the past 20 years, I've had two flats on 4 wheel vehicles and both times I called AAA. They swapped the spare on for me. So with the S550 I'm now in the position I was on every motorcycle trip except that I have emergency road service and the fix kit and a pump. I have no worries. I drove to Texas and back in March and never had a concern about tire issues. I don't think I need a spare because of the road service coverage, the fix kit and a cell phone. I'm good!
