"You can do it" lol the hardest part was taking the eleventy billion screws/push pins out of the bottom tray, everything else is just in and out. Also, swap out the fan shroud on the bench as it fits right back in all together. I left the active grill shutters in, just didn't feel like messing with them this go 'round.

Any questions just let me know but you'll be fine!
I thought the shutters don't fit with that thicker rad? Interesting to know lol

They weren't even close for me but I do remember reading the same thing. Once you get the top cover off you'll see.

did this mod to my 2015 gt auto. cht at steady state on highway dropped from 210 to 195. im worried that its too cool. i mean the t-stat opens at 180 and im only 15 degrees above that. in the winter when the t-stat opens will the cold air cause the cht to plummet and make the t-stat cycle on/off all the time?

Just curious - has anyone ever compared a Non-PP Radiator up against a true PP Radiator using images and by dimension?

I know we always hear and read the Performance Package comes with a “PP Radiator” and it’s in S550 Ford literature as such, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone do an actual side by side comparison.

Do the S550 GT350’s have a PP Radiator, or a GT350 specific radiator that is better than the PP Radiator?
CloneRanger ... did you score?

I am in on this one ... if you pull the trigger, Cobra Jet is spot on. A side by side, top to top edge to edge. On my 19 PP, front to back my core measures 1.25" thick. The tanks are ~2.0" wide and there seems to be about 25% more room on the front side of the assembly for additional tank thickness. Ford specified a different part number and description for the PP option that the rad is larger.
Some photos and measurements here :

Standard rad is about an inch in thickness, PP radiator is an inch and a half. All other dimensions remain the same. I'd love to see this build sheet because I've never heard of that item before.
Below is the stock radiator.

You can just about see the front edge of the rad, without removing the radiator panels and looking down the hole in the panel under the hood strut securing clip.

Lining the steel rule up to the front edge of the rad gives me approx 37mm, which lines up with the 1.5" thickness quoted for the PP rad :

With regards to the under car bracing - yes, I believe our Euro PP1's get that and yes they are still needed / fitted on MR cars. I've also added the additional Steeda lower brace and the strut tower brace that they miss off or RHD euros :like:

Thanks for that - my build sheet gives the radiator measurements as 643 x 502 x 36.4 mm (1 & 1/2 inches) so it must be the PP1 radiator fitted. These must come standard with cars built for Australia/New Zealand and possibly Europe as the build sheet also says 'standard cooling system'. It is great to find all these things out as I am very new to the Mustang world. Have owned Mercedes-Benz for 40 years. First car of a different brand for a very long time! But the looks and sound of these cars are like nothing else.

Huh? It's $262 lol

I did this mod a year ago, very much recommended. Base radiator is adequate, sure, but living at elevation it quickly becomes lacking. Now even in the worst street/mountain driving conditions I've never seen my CHT go above 227.
