Performance difference worth it?

I came from a BMW 330i ZHP and went with the Base. I've owned several cars with leather and navigation and all the other bells and whistles and I don't miss any of it. The cloth seats are wonderful in the Mustang, not too cold when its cold outside and not scalding hot now when it is 90+degrees outside. Navigation in cars is outdated in 2 years, if that. I believe the Base is only missing wet and snow driving modes...I've driven through monsoons just fine and it snows once every 10 years here. I wouldn't be driving a Mustang in snow anyways. I didn't see the $5k+ premium for leather since that was the only option I would have gone with had I been able to JUST get leather.

I've got bluetooth in the base, which was one of my must haves. The stereo is just as clear as my Harmon Kardon in the BMW, eventhough I usually have the windows cracked listening to my exhaust. I say give the base a shot, I drive mine daily about 50+ miles roundtrip and I have no complaints (except for wheel hop). AND best of all, you will have more Fun Money, which is a big reason I went with the Base as well.

Given that your Audi is a 2003, its not like you're coming from a B8 A4. I would at least check out the base interior and see if you can live with it, most are saying that it's really good. Heated seats are much more necessary on leather than a fabric seat and the cooled seats are getting very mixed reviews. you would lose out on the selectable drive modes which is nice, but I wouldn't stress about the loss of MFT or Sync 3, just a nice-to-have.
either way, if you're even thinking about it, you'd be doing yourself a disservice to not go out and find one to sit in and make the decision on your own. You have a benefit that I did not when I ordered mine, they are already at dealers.

I'll take this into consideration! I was leaning towards the premium mainly for the drive modes, because I was going to drive in my audi. But I found out it would be cheaper to insure both cars than just the mustang, and it snows 4-5 months out of the year here. So having something for the winter with AWD just makes sense. I'd only get like 3k from the dealer for it, and buying new rims and tires for snow tires would likely cost around that anyway I think. I just use the heated seats on my car literally every day of the winter. It's nice to get in a car when it's -10 degrees and a few minutes later have a warm ass.

That's the feeling I am getting. The drive modes do sound really fun. Anyway to add that or heated seats to the car aftermarket? I know amazon sells some cheap heated seat packages for cars.

Raoh, I noticed in your OP that you probably will not be modding any Mustang that you get. So if you want the most fun car, by all means get the GT. No other Mustang is more of a muscle car smile maker. If money can't stretch to a GT and you want a great looking, fast Mustang that you could mod in the future, then get yourself an EB. If you want the great looking new Mustang for the least cost, choose the V-6 and get 300HP on the cheap. If you are addicted to creature-comforts, as you might be coming from an Audi, then I suggest you test drive a Premium EB...the best equipped fast Mustang bargain. All the "bells and whistles" possible without the higher cost Coyote. Drive EM all...Good Luck.

Haha, yeah, luckily cold here means it is 40 outside. The cooled seats will probably help though in the summer here, but without leather my back doesn't seem to sweat nearly as much.

See, I am a big guy, and I have always had a problem with the heat, my back gets sweaty in 75 degree weather. I'll have to try the cooled seats to see if it will make a difference. If it's as nice as I imagine, I may not be able to live without it.

adding heated seats is always an option. I don't know your capabilities, but its a job I would probably do myself, however most of the people I know would take it to a shop. either way, if it was that important for the money saved you could do heated seats and leather and go on vacation.

sport mode on stock ecoboost still can't be as exciting as 435 hp in regular mode.

Oh and one other prediction Raoh...if you get a new Mustang, I'll bet you won't be spending as much time playing video games. That's because you'll be spending time riding around in your new Mustang...they are truly addictive. Especially if you get the GT as you never tire of listening to that V-8s tones.

Man, I was planning on that. I've had the audi for 3 years, and I only put 20k miles on it. But the first two months I had it(came from a 2001 neon lol) I think I put about 2k on it just then. I imagine it's going to be quite a bit more fun than this thing! I regret not finding a cheap used mustang instead of this tbh.

It sounds like you want the GT. And I think you should get the car you want.

What video games are you playing? I also play video games as a hobby, but If I had to pick between expensive video games and the car I really want, I would take the car in a heartbeat. That said, it's hard for me to imagine how you could spend enough on video games to even make a dent in the car budget. There are more free-to-play games out there than I have time for.

• Oh I remembered now, does the EB have as much wheel hop as the GT? Every video I see of the GT, anytime someone hits the gas theres a ton of wheel hop.

I drive the ever-loving piss out of my car and have never had any wheel hop. I don't think the crap Pirellis have enough grip to even cause wheel hop. Get the GT or live with regret every time you see those 5.0 badges on another car. My 2 cents...

I m coming from an a4. I got the premium ecoboost mostly because it was at the top of my budget. The premium was more important to me than the base 5.0. I got a tune from a reputable tuner and he car performs awesome. Without the tune I was content with the performance but with the tune I love it. I still plan that my next one will be a gt.

I play games on steam mostly, and I buy a LOT of games. I think my steam library is worth like 6 grand or something. I only play dota though... I do rent a lot of films on amazon and what have you. But still, the difference we are talking here is like 60-100 dollars more a month for the gt premium, that's basically a game to a game and a half really. That's a dent imo.

I think either option would be good for you but if you buy the EB... You'll wish you had gotten the GT !! Maybe check the classified when you're ready.... Might find a good deal on a used 15 GT !! Good luck with your decision.
