try getting a 2016 GT350 in an auto

the mustang is a great car because it comes in all different flavors. it's a mainstream car. the owners range from high school girls in their automatic convertible v6s to the hardcore drag racer in their blown GT autos, and those who love to track their car in HPDEs in their GTPPs.

As a woman who has driven manual for >32 years (this is my first AT), I am constantly blown away by the number of men on this forum who are learning to use a stick specifically in order to drive this car.

Your point is moot. :)
Funny story, the only person I knew as a child who drove stick, is my female cousin 20 years older than myself. ;)

I have wanted to learn for a while! But when no one you know has a stick, you just forget about it. And now my one friend with one is a diva and wont let me drive his car lol.

Most of the threads about this seemed kind of old, and the people buying seemed to already have owned high performance cars! And I could do the base GT. But I do drive an audi right now, I am used to the leather interior and heated seats haha. I kind of wanted the premium trim for the heated/cooled seats, leather, and drive modes. I am REALLY leaning towards the gt. Oh I remembered now, does the EB have as much wheel hop as the GT? Every video I see of the GT, anytime someone hits the gas theres a ton of wheel hop.
Your dilemma is what I just went through. Get the GT or get the EB. Like you, I like my leather and power seats, etc. Since the premium goodies are basically the same for each car, it came down to what did I really want. I must have reviewed every GT and EB youtube video...
I thought getting a GT would result in significantly more insurance so I checked to see what the difference would be with my carrier (USAA) - $4 a year difference between EB and GT or $2 every 6 mo. Ok, that became a non-factor. Then I looked at the gas mileage and did a lot of research - based upon the speed I normally drive (25-35 MPH) on post, I was going to be seeing the low side of 10 MPG compared to 15-18 MPG with the EB. That was a bigger difference. Then I test drove both (several times) - loved them both and the cars were the same otherwise. Again, I asked myself what I wanted out of the car. I have no plans on racing my Mustang but want a catback and a tune (although I'm not sure, based upon my driving, that a tune is really necessary). So I started with 'I want a GT' and ended up with an EB PP. Haven't received yet but can't wait until it arrives.

Nick.

Yeah, the fuel economy is a nonfactor for me on either car. My car get's 18-20 average mpg right now, and that's without ever pushing it much. And i still have to use premium! So even the gt's V8 won't be worse than what I drive now on that issue. At this point I think it's actually between the GT base and the GT premium for me. I just have to decide if I REALLY need all those extra features.

The base GT is very well equipped, as you know. Here's an offbeat question for you, "Do you really need a little lighted pony shining next to your door"? How much are you paying for the "my little pony" light? Put an estimated cost of each item in the premium version that you pay for over a 5 year note. It's more when you add your note costs. Still need that pony light? Good Luck.

This is exactly the issue right now actually! I REALLY want the pony lights because stupid stuff like that is awesome to me. But in the end, I'm leaning towards everything outside the drive modes, leather, and cooled seats to not be worth it for me.

initially when i ordered my car, i didnt want anything from the premium except for the pony projection lights. then someone told me the cooled seats were worth the 4k alone, so i tried to change my order to a premium.

unfortunately my dealer told me i had to come back in and redo the paperwork/order, so i said fuck it, didnt wanna lose my spot in the line.

im still glad i ordered the base GTPP after reading the complaints about the cooled seats not working well and pony lights falling out of the side mirror.

Maybe I can just make my own pony projection lights lol. Also, I just found some cooled/heated seat cushions for 170 a pop. I think I might just grab one of those, and make any passengers suffer. ;) Yeah. Actually, now that I found this, the cooled seats don't do it for me anymore, just the pony lights and drive modes. Anyone know of a way to mod in drive modes? If that's possible, probably would not care about the premium.

Shop hard for deals everywhere. I found my Mustang 200 miles from my home on Cars.com. But the thing that I found interesting about that is the fact that the Ford web site didn't show the car at all. It was just the car I wanted and it wasn't on the Ford locator site. Try everything. Good Luck.

The pony light is a must-have.
Doesn't it add horsepower? :headbonk:

Premium is worth the 'premium' because of the selectable driver modes by itself. All of the other stuff is just gravy. The base stereo is horrid. It looks like something that came out of a c-class Benz back in 1997

Does the base model allow music playback through bluetooth? The stereo quality doesn't matter to me, because I will never listen to the actual radio, and an aftermarket one is pretty cheap. as long as I can upgrade the speakers, not sure I will care though.
