Happens at 25-30mph. If I push clutch in, it does not change. If I speed up or slow down a bit, it’s gone.

Doesn’t get louder/can’t hear it if I roll window down. When I first heard it I thought something was rattling in the glove box, but it’s empty.

Edit: I took out the video about the battery cover being loose and rattling as that was not the source.

You're missing the 3 push clips for the battery cover. Really easy to drop them in the engine bay.

So an update on this and am curious for feedback:

The shop foreman rode with me. Said he's had a couple cars with the same issue. I couldn't quite follow but something between the shifter and the transmission. He pointed out that if you put your ear to the right of the shifter (basically where passenger left knee is), you hear that it's coming from there. On that, I agreed.

He could tell I was skeptical or still concerned, so he took me to drive another M1 on the lot, brand new, that did the same thing. I can't find much on this researching. In honesty, you wouldn't catch it if you had the windows down or radio on. Like the original post mentioned, it's only at a very specific set of conditions.

Mine rattles right there too. When you're driving, right where the passengers left knee would sit, hold that down with your hand and see if it stops. It's the panel to the right of the gear selector. I'm sure there is a way to tighten it down since its an easy to remove piece, but meh..

Personally I've just accepted the car for what it is, a cheaply built American car where the motors are always priority and QC of everything else comes 2nd. You'll be chasing forever on these cars concerning odd noises. But hopefully this helped a little.

Check the "Batarang" thing on side of the transmission. Looks like this:

Ooops my bad. Actually it looks like this (photo credit @NGOT8R ):

You can find it on the passenger side of the transmission about right where you guys are describing the noise is coming from. Ford calls it a "Shift dampener"

Many reports of this part being loose, rattling, and actually falling of the car while driving.
Calimer's Transmissions has a block-off plate for those wanting to remove it but the transmission has to be dropped to clear the tunnel. The dampener assembly extends about 4" inside the transmission.
I inspected mine during a fluid change. It was secure enough on the shaft that I am going to leave it alone until I need to do a clutch change.

Suggest you check out my post "Rattle Driving Me Crazy". (Long but worth the read) My passenger side dash board rattle originated in the right side of my engine compartment. A simple fix made rattle disappear . Good luck

There’s at least one member here, whose counterweight fell off. I removed mine and replaced it with a Calimer delete plate. because it is a very annoying rattle source (sounds like rocs in a can). You can literally shake it with your hand.

Good to know. I don't think the sound i'm hearing has the "tinny" quality that would be similar to rocks in a can. Either way, something to check. What's the purpose of counterweight and do you recall what happened when it fell off?

When you get underneath and shake it with your hand, you’ll be able to tell if it’s the sound you’re hearing very easily.

As for what it does, I’m not 100% certain, but here is what Calimer Transmissions had to say about it on their website.

https://www.calimertransmissions.com/product-page/2018-and-up-shift-weight-delete

If my memory serves me correctly, the member, whose counterweight fell off, also added a Calimer delete plate.
