My passenger side header is rubbing on the a/c line. Whenever I turn left you can hear the rubbing quite loudly, usually only more prominent in the higher rpm’s. I’ve read a couple forums with this similar problem but i’ve only seen one on a gen 3. Mine is a 2019, does anybody have a solution to this that isn’t going to include a reinstall? There’s one header bolt on the passenger side that has been pushed out just a hair that i’m going to tighten back down but i don’t believe it’s going to help enough to completely stop the noise. I did see a youtube video of the same problem and the guy put a piece of plastic as a temporary solution which i did, and it did help but of course it’s always going to melt away due to the heat and that’s something i want to keep replacing. I’ll attach pictures below, i tried using zip ties to pull the line as much as i could away seemed to help some but i would like for the noise to be completely resolved.

You didn’t buy good headers. ? That also can promote false knock as well.

Yep motor mount adjustment is the only correct way.

Unless of course, one goes Donkey Kong on the header primaries by smashing them in with a hammer to get added space.... LMFAO. (Hey, people do it, I've seen plenty of malformed headers....and be like seriously?!?!)

If that were a problem that I had, I would carefully mark off the area on the header primary that makes contact with the AC line and bracket, remove the header and heat it up until it was red hot and quickly tighten the primary in a vice and perform a controlled smash. Leave it in the vice until it cooled down and you’re done. I wouldn’t beat on it with a hammer at all. Moving the motor over via the motor months might work, but could cause interference on the driver’s side. Good luck and I hope you get it worked out to your satisfaction.

What about an eye bolt through the hole in the strut tower(?) And using a metal zip tie? Not sure if you have access to be able to do that but it may be one solution. Plastic screams fire to me.

Nah, the only actual solutions to this are either "clearancing" the header pipe with a hammer, or moving the engine on its mounts a little bit. Any sort of bending/forcing/cajoling the A/C block or lines is not ideal.

Figured as much. Old school solution to modern problems.
