Not every one has HDPE stock laying around (I do at work), but I would think you could find something around the house that would work too.
Need around 1/16" thickness (so it does not bend) then just cut with sizzors a small hook on one end to get between the glass & w/s.
A sample credit card that you get in the mail (or a dead one) could be used, but something twice as long would be better.
Tupperware or Rubbermaid storage containers are about the right thickness and the right kind of (softer like HPDE) plastic.
