I've been staring at the side of my Heritage Edition for a week and a half or so now and I can't help but think how great it would look if the calipers were Guardsman Blue to match the stripes rather than black. Has anyone else changed the color of theirs? Is it a pain in the ass? Easy to get done? I'm sure there are plenty of opinions here.

I've painted some with high heat black and they are holding up very well. If you want a professional look taking them off and disassembling them then painting them would be the way to go. But if you are only concerned with the areas that are visible then just tap up the areas you don't want paint. Matching your color in high heat might be a pain.

Not a chance!! I love the side stripe.
I think they would look good that color. I bought the paint, just haven't gotten around to doing it yet. And definitely don't listen to a GT owner about the side stripes.

I like painted calipers on other people rides, not on mine. The avatar you see wheel and rotor, the caliper shrinks, visually invisible. Rotor and wheel stand out, to me a cleaner look

gt350's don't need to hide their big beautiful calipers.

Missed the point, I said I like painted on other people's rides, not mine.

Calipers not hiding, big beautiful black Brembo's. Look cleaner in the wheel, with a classy red lettered badge. Which I think has a better & more finished appearance.

If you decide to paint the calipers yourself then remember to clean, clean, clean them thoroughly. Then go back and clean them again. Your paint needs something to stick to and any grease or oil even stuff like wax you don't see will prevent the paint from adhering properly. Good luck.

I think that sounds like a great idea. I'd say it can be a pain in the ass.. All about how much you want to spend or float while getting it done.

I prefer to do this sort of mechanical labor myself, so I'd opt to buy a spare set of calipers (preferably used). It'd be nice to knock everything out at once.

Regarding pros and cons, I've done it all.. Painted, powder coated, and paid professionals to do both. For either choice, you need to choose a high temperature finish/product. Paint turnaround will be faster, doesn't require rebuilding the calipers.. Powder coating will require the caliper be disassembled/reassembled. Paint requires skill for a proper finish, powder coating will achieve a smoother finish (imo superior finish).. Beyond time and costs associated, no real cons unless corners are cut.

If I was doing the brakes on my 350, I'd like to try Cerakote. That being said, you probably won't be able to match the color with powder coating or Cerakote.

Pro tip, sand down the surface and most importantly, smooth those seams.

Be sure to share the results!

Check out bemarofilms he makes a vinyl kit for the brembos. Several colors to choose from and you can easily switch it up when you want. I currently have mine wrapped in white

I bought a second set and had them painted an exact match from the Comp Orange paint code...I had reverse "Brembo" images made and overlayed in gloss black...followed by clear coat...its been a few years now and they look like day one. For me it completed the look of the car and brightened up the wheel hub area. I've vac-packed the OEM calipers and I know that I can always go back at the cost of some washers and brake fluid.

Check out discoloration on front brake caliper on my old 96 Viper GTS racecar. Rear caliper maintained its color because of much less heat. Should not be problem in a street car.

Powder coated? An acrylic paint usually handles the heat well. But Powder coat wont

The last GT350R Heritage Edition is actually going to be getting the calipers painted in Guardsman Blue so you might want to wait and see how they do it. I am sure that once its revealed someone will post it here.
