I had ordered my car in march and was told by Ford that the car had been delivered on May 2nd. My dealership had been telling me the car still had not been delivered, but I had confirmation. It was not until I told them that I knew it had been delivered that they would go on to tell me that something was wrong with the paint and that they had shipped it to a local auto body shop to get fixed. Not a ford auto body shop just a local one.

So first off I was being lied to, and they wouldn't have told me about the apparent "fixing" until I told them that I knew it had come in.

Does anyone know fords policies on this, as well as damage before delivery.

I've already waited almost 10 weeks for this car, and would not want to wait any longer.

Honestly if you dont want yo wait any longer then ur stuck with that car and maybe you can have some money taken off the msrp, but thats about it far from refusing to take delivery and ordering from another dealer

For body work only if insurance gets involved. I had many minor accidents where repairs were paid cash and no issue on carfax

On my bimmer I did the oil change at the dealer for 4 years, and none of those visits been reported to carfax. If I look on it right now it seems, that the car never had an oil change :)

Weird, my cars service at nissan shows up in car fax.
That might be something they choose to report but that is very far in between most body shops dont bother with that it is usually insurance companies that report that information and usually inspections and stuff along those lines get reported on car fax

Thats interesting that you mentioned that, I see you got your car in black. I wonder if our issues are related.

Long story short I dropped my car off for paint correction after having it for 24 hours due to massive amount of paint swirls and chips in the clear coat. Before we even got started my detailer went over the car with LED's and noticed in several spots where the paint had a brownish tint. It wasn't the entire car, only in a few spots. From afar neither my detailer or I could see, only under the LED's. His painter who has been working for him for 25+ years could spot it without the light.

Refuse delivery and order another one. I would never accept a new car with panels repaired. If any of them were repainted you're in for trouble.

Skip this one and get another one. Don't settle.

That is simply from the paint being so thin in those areas you are seeing the base coat thru the black and the clear.

The only problem is that 2015 ordering is done, so I would have to wait a considerable amount of time until the 2016 were to come in. I just truly feel like I should be compensated for this but apparently fords policies are that they are only to fix it to be as new, but don't compensate for damage before delivery. Their pretty much saying it's not their problem...

Then wait. Best thing you can do. Don't settle. You'll regret it.
