I ran a 4.1 on stage 2 p1x and made 17 lbs at 8,000 with a gates green, stock procharger pulley. Stage 2 doesn't really need anything beyond a stiffer belt. It has good traction because it wraps so much surface area on the pulley.
Cool thanks will definitely keep that in mind. I wonder what makes people have such different boost levels with the same pulley size. @ 4.75 measured 9psi @4.5 on my boost gauge saw 11psi both at 7,500 rpm. I’m kind of on track to make 13ish with 4.25 pulley. But you ended up making 17psi with a 4.1?? It seems you have a 2016 as well.

Biggest thing is RPM from 7,500 to 8,000 approx 3 additional lbs. Also lots of factors affect boost numbers. Mods, weather conditions, tune, etc.

Wow didn’t think just 500rpm would result in 3psi. Nice!!

Cool. What size was your 4.1” green belt?
You don't want green, get a RPM belt and be done with it. Green is like a rubber band, RPM will maintain length much more consistently and stroke the tensioner alot less.

With words of caution against over tightening the rpm since they don’t stretch much.

I’ve tried all 3 styles and definitely understand the differences. After your wrap comment I agree stage 2 seems like almost 75% pulley wrap. I may try a typical belt first at fractions of the cost and adjust belts from there if need be. The less amount of stress I can keep off the crank and still maintain boost without slip is where I’ll go. Thanks for all the input

I'm currently on a stage 2 p1x, running a 4.10" pulley seeing about 16Ibs and 810whp. Looking to get more boost/whp and thinking about going down on pulley size. What pulley would anyone recommend id like to get a bit over 850whp if possible, the motor is only on OPG/SC nothing else as far as motor goes but I barely race it, don't track it and roll race maybe 3 times a month? So I'm not really pushing the motor, I'd like to have the power there just in case though haha

What belt would you recommend and is this still safe without overspinning ?
K080655RPM. Safe? Your making twice the power the stock engine was engineered for. I'd be more worried about it vs slightly overspinning the blower...

I’m about to try a 4.25 and Procharger recommended a K080653. Currently have a K080660 with a 4.5 and is in the middle travel at the recommended tension
