Pulley down on a P1X

Currently running a P1X on a HO kit with Stage 2 Intercooler and Big Red Race Valve. Pulley size that I’m running right now is a 3.75 and I’m seeing 8lbs. I understand boost is mainly a number and 1/8 to 1/4 times count but I’m wondering what size Pulley is people running with similiar setups? I’m gonna stay on 93 for awhile till I make the jump to e85. Lund has me limited to 7k rpms due to having 47lb injectors but I just got a great deal on ID1050x injectors so I’m sure that won’t be an issue anymore and I’ll be able to rev higher. Rough HP numbers? Will head to the dyno soon once I switch out injectors.

Not a fan of 93 on these cars with boost, you are probably good where your at with 93. To many engines get taken out on 93. Maybe not here but I have seen plenty on Facebook groups.

If you can get the revs bumped to 7800/8000 it's like going to make 10bs.

It will for sure feel better revving higher.

I would not change the pulley without E85.

Yeah I’ve seen my fair share of engines blown also. Just trying to get a consensus on what other people are running as far as pulley size on 93. We will see on how these new injectors will run and how high it’ll let me rev on this setup without going too lean.

Those are the numbers I’m trying to hit. I’d be happy with high 600s. Or mid 10s on the track. It’s a manual so the track learning curve with a high hp car is rather steep. But those are my goals for it being a daily and all!

*Update* After installing the 1050x injectors a few months ago and Lund releasing the rpm hold from 7k to 8k I’m seeing 12 psi at 7800-8k on 3.75 pulley. Just purchased Lethals level 1 kit and going to make the venture into E. Thinking about pulleying down to maybe a 3.375 or 3.5. I don’t have headers so maybe hold off on the 3.375 because that would put me close to 16psi and I hear that’s the max anyone would go on a stock motor and trans. Is that a fair assessment or send it? This is my daily driver and I rarely get into boost on the weekdays or on the weekends with the boys.

16 lbs on E85 is acceptable on a limited basis. Kinda the upper limit on getting it to last, but should make 750 or so. Those tiny pulleys on the 6 rib may experience some slip tho.

Tracking. When I do pulley down I’ll be going with a griptec pulley to help prevent slip.

Honestly if I were you I'd stay on the 3.75". Unless your squeezing out the last little bit at the strip it's minimal gain, and much easier on the engine. Would still be hella fun on the street. Going E85 will be a very noticable difference at the same boost.

My current Max rpm on my Procharger set up is 42,553 rpm on the 4.88 pulley. Max Rpm on a D1x is 62,000. So I really haven’t even scratched the upper end of this blower’s capability.. I will turn it up when my transmission gets done. I Will talk to my tuner when i drop my car off for the trans build Next week..

I’ve used the calculators. Currently shifting at around 7500-7800 I’m spinning it to about 59k. Now if I drop down to a 3.50 id be at 62k or a 3.375 would be 64k at 7800rpms. Peak boost is around 7100 rpms or alittle less.

Don’t you have a gen 2 with a stage 2 system? Are you limiting the car right now to 6500rpm or something? If not then you’re more like 50xxx

Gen2 stage2 redline is 7500, crank pulley is 6.75 inches pc pulley 4.88 ..calculator says 42,533 rpm at redline..
