I am not starting a GT350 list at my dealership until we get actual ordering & pricing info... There will certainly be enough to go around.
I know you are drag racing guy and prefer the styling of the later S197s, but I want to know - "what color are you getting"? :)

I am not starting a GT350 list at my dealership until we get actual ordering & pricing info. There's no sense collecting any deposits until we can actually quote a real price. Sure, there will be plenty of dealers willing to take deposits now (and earn interest on your money), but what if they never earn an allocation and can't get you a car after you've waited many months? As a consumer, I'd rather know for sure that my deposit is going toward a real allocation. As for those who are afraid to wait lest they miss a chance to get a GT350? Keep in mind that Ford has already said they'll build these in the same quantities as the GT500's, so anyone who wants one (and can afford one) will be able to buy one. There will certainly be enough to go around.

Great info/advice. Thanks!

Sounds like you either are, or are hoping to be a fresh fish. If you're thinking you're going to throw your entire junior enlisted paycheck at a +/- $60k car and pay for it "after your first deployment", you're in for some hurt feelings.

Unless I'm missing something, that's the scenario. And if so, there are so, so many other things you need to be doing with that money. You're welcome to ignore my advice and give me the "I'll spend my money as I please" response, but know this is first hand experience talking.

the dealer that i have bought 6 cars from in the last year, including getting my 2015 gt at x plan price already told me they will have a 20-25K markup on the price to start. i talked to the guy who makes a lot of the deals in the sales tower and he said they obviously want to make money and will sell it high to start, then after it fizzles down, they drop it down. he knows i want to order it and told me to just be patient so i can get it at a decent price. if i can find a dealer that wont gouge the price, ill just have to switch to them instead, it sucks, but im not paying 25k over sticker for it, its not worth that much to me. Yes i have the money to do it if i wanted to, but that makes no sense to me, guess ill have to shop around or play the waiting game.

Sorry, I didn't mean to come off as an asshat. Kinda haven't slept in a couple of days so my attitude filter is kinda shut off right now. I apologize fully to five oh brian, I didn't mean any disrespect
No need to apologize; nothing you said offended me. I see that you are very enthusiastic about getting a GT350 and that's awesome. If you can get a dealer to put a fair deal in writing really early and they actually get GT350 allocations once those are determined, then you come out ahead. Not faulting you there. Just please be ready to wait a year for the car and make sure your dealer really has an allocation. I'm excited for these cars to arrive!

I have not warmed up to the '15 Mustang front end, but the GT350 is just frickin' awesome looking! I like the silver/grey car at the Ford media site much better than the white one. Too bad this is a road race car; I'd feel very guilty torturing that IRS at the dragstrip. Guess I'll keep my '14 GT for now.
