So the worst case scenario happened. I have a knock on my 2019 GT. It's not official, but it's obvious. My car sounds like a diesel engine right now. It came out of no where too. I drove and got gas. Did a partial pull leaving the gas station. Accelerated aggressively through 2nd and halfway through 3rd. Drove to Lowes and turned the car off. I came out and when I tried starting it, it was cranking slowly and wouldnt turn over. I assumed it was the battery so I actually replaced the battery and it turned over but immediately began knocking. The low oil pressure warning came on as well and it now won't even turn over.
I am fully anticipating any warranty claim will be denied. The car is modified with a tune, headers, and intake. It has 31k miles so the car is still under warranty if it was stock hahaha.
A crate gen3 engine looks to be around 10k from my research, plus install I'm assuming I'm looking at around 15k.
Is it possible to get this engine rebuilt? I'm not too familiar with how that works and the costs associated with that. Would that be a cheaper option than a full engine replacement?
