its very possible the new mustang does a better job of keeping the fumes out of the cabin than most cars, which would be pretty cool.

i normally come home stinking like tire smoke and carbon after driving other cars.
lol these ones are pretty good. even at keeping the exhaust noise aft and not reverberating through the cabin.

Is there any side affects from turning off the rear sensors? Doesn't the ECU use that signal for comparison purposes to adjust fuel trim?
The rear o2's just monitor the cats so shutting them off along with COT will be fine. It's the front o2's that monitor everything else.

There is definitely a smell you get when deleting cats. It's usually a fuel smell. Every car I've ever deleted cats on has had the smell and it gets worse with a car that has a nasty cam in it.

I went with Stainless Power longtubes, but haven't installed them yet. They have the option for a 3" performance connect. Make note that there is an A/C line fastener on the passenger side that needs to be clearanced. It doesn't touch, but other members have reported possible false knock from the fastener hitting one of the primaries.

Interesting...I didn't notice it when I went catless on my Evo so I'll ask around for more opinion.

Exactly. It is really surprising to me to hear people saying there is no smell. One nice thing about direct injection on my C7 is you don't lose fuel out of an open exhaust valve, even with a big cam.

I also had a catless Evo and it stunk pretty bad.

Go stand behind or drive behind a classic car from the 60s or earlier with no cats and the smell will either piss you off or recall your childhood.

Odd, I never noticed it and I was wrenching on that car quite a bit and it was my daily driver.

I have catless, I only notice a fuel smell when I'm at a drive thru ATM and I'm hanging out the window.

So my next NA mod is going to be headers. I'm looking for objective opinions (lol yeah right) on quality and fit.

Secondly, I'm considering going cat-less so I'm curious as to the ability to tune out the CEL issues that are bound to pop up? If not I'll stick to catted pipes and may even try to get green cats.

Btw I have a Corsa sport so I'm looking for a 3" connect 1 7/8" headers. I figure I'll have to fab up a short connection piece as I want to maintain a true 3" exhaust.

Thanks guys....and TRY to keep it civil lol ;)
Considering I'm biased I say go with Kooks (; You will have zero coding issues if you have your tune. I have been running Kooks cat-less for a little over two months now with no issues. Another plus about the Kooks is the simplicity of the install; you will have a harder time removing the OEM headers lol. Which ever brand you go with I wish you luck, your car will sound great regardless.

it really doesn't matter which headers you get. they are all within 5 hp of each other, the rest is just brand loyalty bullsh!t. I have used ARH, Kooks, TSP, SW, etc and ARH and Kooks have had the best fitment but were also more $$.

Tuning out codes is cake, don't worry about it. However, if it is a street car, I would get cats to clean up the exhaust....you don't want to stink every day you drive to work or something do you?
It really doesn't smell bad, bro.

so far it doesn't smell bad according to 3 people in Florida. 2 people not in florida think it does smell bad and a third says only while stopped.

maybe the fishy ocean smell is overbearing?

I'm concerned with the quality of their metal since it's the lower priced version. Anyone want to chime in about Stainless Power?
