General consensus is yes, you need a tune with longtubes.

If you get catless longtube headers, you will need a tune to prevent a check engine light. Even if you get catted LTs, you will likely still throw a CEL and will need a tune. Not sure if non-foulers work on our cars for that.

Beyond preventing a CEL, a tune will also get you some more power to better take advantage of the better flowing exhaust.

No they are not the best bang for the buck. Cat deletes give you 80-85% of the power gains for 1/4 the price of most big name brands. Secondly, the tune is used to shut off COT. Cat over temp protection. Car will run fat without this shut off. E85 tune is by far the best power adder for the $ spent. Research and quit repeating false blanket statements people...

If like back in the day you could get headers for 250, and cars had log manifolds, then yes, great bang for the buck. But at 1200+ no way. 350 for a cat delete is highway robbery IMO.

Can you point me to some posted dyno results of someone who gained legit power by removing their functioning cats on a bolt on car?
I have a very hard time believing this statement.
Maybe on a blower car that had already melted them half way, but that's just removing a restriction that shouldn't be there to gain power, not a true comparison.

Also, there are many more reasons to tune for longtubes than just disabling COT. Longtubes change airflow in a good way, and the tune needs to know about that. They can also change spark and fueling requirements, move the O2s further downstream, etc. This all needs to be compensated for in the calibration otherwise you are leaving potential gains on the table.

Once you add a set of long tube headers you'll want to get tuned for sure to get full potential out of them. A tune, headers and even E85 is a great starting point and will really wake the car up. We have a few brands in stock ready to go weather you're looking for catted or catless and US made or overseas made.

Hit me up and we can get you dialed in for sure!

It's 100% necessary to have the car tuned when adding long tubes wether catted or catless. You'll need to go with something like Lund or Palm Beach Dyno for the tuning. The tuning is there not only to deal with check engine light scenarios but to adjust air/fuel/ignition as your exhaust flow will be altered pretty drastically. We have options for you here at Lethal Performance. PM me if you have more questions. https://www.lethalperformance.com/s...18-2019-ford-mustang-gt-coyote/custom-tunes-2
